aside: Bugs do travel, of course. Once I bought some beautiful lilies similar to the ones in sher's avatar and they brought along with them a beetle infestation to my yard that was so invasive to the state that they had to ban the import of those plants. (I am not saying sher's lilies have beetles at all). But there are some bugs that are known to make their home in certain states and if you see a bug and have no idea what it is,here is a great search engine for each state! FWIW
Thank you for that reference, Corinne!
There were no beetles on my lilies, but I used to get Japanese beetle infestation in my garden. I was using phemerone (sp?) traps, and they attracted every Japanese beetle for miles. When I took the traps down, the beetle population dropped to manageable levels.

@cornne, what an excellent resource! Thank you!!! dianne yes, these things are huge!! I will definitely have to move the third little friend into a pot. The leaves are so big that I'll also probably end up moving this Aerogarden so the leaves don't infringe on the peppers that are sitting right next to them in another Bounty... Sher: oh no, beetles! I have some squash pictures that I need to post in my outside garden thread: something is biting little holes into the center of the leaves! I had hoped that it was just mildew, but now I'm thinking it could be... the dreaded cucumber beetle! Ack!!!

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone! I've moved my little eggplant into a pretty pot I picked up at the garden center. Gave him some water, and voila! Hope that he'll be happy there. The other two seem pretty pleased with themselves now that they have the whole Bounty to themselves!

Lovely! It always amazes me how easily Aerogarden plants adapt to soil.

dianne, look what greeted me this morning! Just gorgeous! There's another bud waiting to open the neighboring plant, so soon I can get to pollinating!

All the plants are just filled with flowers! Aaaaand….baby eggplants! I'm just *too* excited! The eggplant in the pot is growing more slowly, and has several little unopened buds, but no opened blossoms yet and definitely no eggplant. Hopefully it joins its brethren in flowering soon! I am just so happy. I think I may have mentioned that my spouse and I used to eat an eggplant and basil dish at our favorite Chinese restaurant which has since closed. We'd have it with the pepper-fried mock pork. Once I have the eggplant, I am going to cook them with our fresh basil in that same style and re-create one of our favorite memories.

Thank you, Sher! It was discovering that we could grow eggplant that first convinced me to start Aerogardening. I just love them - and the memories they bring back!
