Started one pod, with two or three seeds, as part of the June 2020 Flower GAL. I'm using the Urban Leaf coco coir pods, and I'm sprouting the seed in RO water for now. Once the seed sprouts, I will use it in a gallon jug with the Kratky method. If needed, I will trim the pod down to one seed. The idea behind the traditional Kratky method is that you give it all of the water/nutrients it needs for its lifecycle, so I'm hoping one gallon will be enough?

I hear people talking about the Kratky method a lot here! I've looked up some things on the internet, but I'm puzzled about the difference between traditional Kratky and refill. And apparently it only works with certain kinds of plants, is that right? Fascinating!

The Kratky method works with any type of plant, but it's commonly used with greens (lettuce, mustard, basil, etc) because they can be grown to a mature size with a reasonable amount of water/nutrients (1 gallon, for example).
The way the Kratky method works is that as the plant consumes nutrients, more and more of the roots are exposed to air - that way, the plant can get oxygen without you needing to oxygenate the water via something like an air pump (used by the AeroGarden Sprout) or a drip pump (used by the AeroGarden Harvest).
The "danger" with refilling it, is that as roots are exposed from air, they transform from normal roots into fuzzy air roots - that way they can capture oxygen more efficiently. If you refill the nutrient solution past where the air roots are, they will rot underwater and cause your entire plant to die eventually. That's why people normally use something with more airflow in the nutrient solution itself (such as DWC or NFT) for longer grows - as no air roots are needed by the plant.

I combined the two Kratky threads into just one since germination has been spotty for me, but I spy life!

If you ever want to try the Kratky method and don't want to deal with net cups or making your own holder, just grab an AeroGarden pod and shove it into a gallon jug!

Slow but steady growth.

Slow progress due to the weak light, but I see the beginnings of a flower! So far the plant has drank around 1/5th of a gallon.

I set up a grow tent today and moved this into it, along with some other plants I haven't made threads for. I'm hoping it will explode with growth!

That will be interesting to watch. I have considered buying a grow tent for my Kratky projects.

That will be interesting to watch. I have considered buying a grow tent for my Kratky projects. I'm not sure how well it will work, but I've heard good things about Mars Hydro. It was $145 if you want to pick one up. Assembly wasn't too bad, but it took me a while to figure out how the "yoyo hangers" for the lights worked.

I've noticed a huge difference since I moved this into my new grow tent. It looks like a flower is about to open up!

Is it over your AG? If so can you show us a shot of the whole thing? I am interested in seeing how it looks

If you enlarge the photo, Shawn it is in a bottle within the tent. This is the Kratky thread. Error has 2 projects going...Kratky and Sprout.
