Here's my Garden Mesclun Blend from Urban Farmer! I think the spindly one in the back is endive, but I'm not sure. There's some algae in the bucket, so I'll want to coat the bucket and lid with paint next time I grow something. (I've also learned that I prefer one hole per lid rather than four)

Newbie questions! When planting your own mesclun seeds, how many seeds do you do put in each pod? If you put more than 1 seed and they all hapoen to germinate do you thin out to only one plant? Also do you put the same type of seed in 1 pod or a variety? In other words, do you separate seeds that look alike and plant each type together in separate pods or just put a certain amount of seeds in each pod regardless of what variety? Sorry for so many questions!

Sorry for so many questions! I normally put 3-4 seeds per pod in general and thin down to one seedling (aside from things like chives). If you're careful, often times you can "save" the seedlings you remove and grow them some other way, such as in a Kratky setup right next to your AeroGarden. For a seed blend like a mesclun mix, I would say it's up to you. Since the different seeds germinate at different times, I divided them up by the type/shape/color of seed and planted those separately (that way I could guarantee that I had different plants and not just whatever variety germinated the quickest).

I present to you... the Basil Box™! I sprinkled a few Sweet Italian Basil seeds onto a little bit of coco coir, and I'm just running an experiment to see how long it will live and/or how large I can get the basil to be. I water it whenever it gets dry, alternating between nutrient solution and plain water in a 2-1 ratio (two feedings of nutrient solution, one feeding of plain water). Despite the number of basil plants, I don't have to water it too often since the basil acts as a mulch and prevents the water from evaporating.

The cube-like container I'm using is a 2"x2"x2" lid from a container of cocktail straws. Would be very interesting to try growing basil in something like a bottle cap and see how big I can get it

25 days ago, I put some basil seeds in some weatherseal for a tutorial video (since I have thousands of basil seeds), and I forgot about them. I think they're overdue for a home.

I'm just sticking this here since I don't have anywhere else to put it. About a month ago (maybe a little more), I started an apple seed in some rockwool. It seems to be doing fairly well.
