Looking forward to seeing how those cucumbers grow.

I'm curious myself since they aren't officially a hydroponic variety. I'm hoping the fact that they are meant for containers means they will be small enough to fit in the farm plus. I already had the seeds laying around, so worst case I've wasted some time and nutes.
The lettuces I have in my DIY setup are doing okay- they are suffering more from my newbie mistakes than being unhappy with the hydroponics I think.

Just because they are containers does not mean they can or should be grown in the AG. You must remember going custom there are factors to consider, i height, spread, etc.
I wish you luck with them and hope they will be successful.

I've tried two varieties of cukes in Aerogardens, both with a measured degree of success. One of the issues that apparently, cukes don't like such a wet environment and that they often grow faster than their roots can keep up with. Therefore, you tend to see huge leaves spring forth from nothing, but as soon as the blossoms appear, you see a lot of leaves turn yellow and die as the roots try to catch up.
And naturally, once the cukes start growing, they absorb a ton of water.

It’s going to be fun watching your cukes play out.

I have no idea what will happen- it seemed like an interesting experiment. I'm not a big fan of tomatoes or peppers, so I'm willing to go through a lot of trial and error to find things I can grow other than lettuce and strawberries.
I will say, for the two leaves they have now, they have a pretty substantial root system- almost as big as the lettuce plants I have that are much older.

Two week update: There was some discussion about some varieties of cucumbers not having enough roots. So far, I think these are doing alright.

I think two cucs in one bowl is too much- maybe one with the two toms, but we shall see how this works out.

I had two cukes in one Bounty for a while. It was a heck of a battle.

Post-feeding explosion. I'm going to try to seperate the lettuces, but I think the cuc's might have too much of a root system to transplant safely. With my (tiny) hands for scale:

Yah! They do get big leaves FAST!! Last spring when I was using the seed starter for veggies to be planted outside, the cucumbers quickly dwarfed and smothered all the adjacent pepper seedlings. (But those holes are super close together)

I think I need to adjust my planning for the farms- 6 small-medium plants 4 large plants 1-2 extra large plants
Think the two cucs might be okay if they were the only thing in there. two with the toms is definitely too much.

Cukes grow leaves so huge you could make a tent out of them.
I'm trying a variety called little leaf. I'll believe that when I see it.

Mary, you made a good observation that the holes were close together. I just do not understand. AG created a farm to grow more however the footprint is the same as two bounties next to each other, But they put more holes in. Why not expand the unit to keep the holes spaced out

Exactly my issue with it.
And while they'd never do it, I think what'd be perfect is making the holes big enough to accommodate a standard 2" net pot, but I assume that's why they make 3D printers.
Just feels like a bit of a task to replicate that grow deck. Printers only print; they don't duplicate, so I have to spend some serious time with calipers, rulers and CAD programs if I really want to try that, and it's so big that there are very few consumer grade printers that could actually print it in the requisite two pieces, so I'd probably have to send it out to get professionally printed.
