It looks like the Orange Hat (front left) is gong to out produce the yellow Venus.

Have you ever grown two tomato plants in an AG Harvest before? Is there enough room to do this? I am guessing that you have to really prune the plants so that they don't get too tall and grow into the lights.

gsaxon , i can grow one of AG's heirloom tomatoes in a Harvest with careful pruning. The Orange Hat and Venus tomatoes are micro minis fom Renaissance Farms. They are tiny plants. But two grow well in a Harvest. I have about 4" above the top of the plants and the fully extended light.

The orange hats are definitely out performing the Venus (right rear).
Maybe because the orange hats are pigging all the light.

I didn't realize the Orange Hats were ripe until one fell off into my hand today. I just gave them nutes yesterday, so I'm sure that affected the flavor. But it was bright, a little sweet and acidic. It tasted like a real tomato to me.
I think the vendor accidentally sent me two envelopes of orange Hat seeds instead of one Orange Hat and one Venus, because the two look exactly alike.

Being ripe is a nice surprise! How do you feel about having more of the same? I'm imagining that if they are tasty, you're not too worried? They look lovely!

If we have too many to use fresh, I'll use them in cooking.
I don't feel like drying them with summer ahead. And you can use up a lot of tomatoes fast in cooking.
And we love tomatoes!
If they get too far ahead of us though, I'll break oit the dehydrator. But that's a slim possibility!

We ate all the red and yellow heirloom tomatoes we could, then dehydrated the rest before they started spoiling.
So today I picked the Orange Hats and Venus.
We will eat them in numerous ways. They have a nice shelf life, so we will probably eat all these fresh.

I made BLT's the other day, the T being store-bought. So, Mikey asked if he could have 8-10 of the AG cherry tomatoes to go with it! Enjoy your tomatoes! They are beautiful!

I was really tickled with the tomato taste. I eased off on the heavy nutrients I had been using, so they were sweeter, but still had a satisfying tomato taste.
I like the small varieties that I can grow in a Harvest and save the Bountys for bigger projects.
