Yesterday I planted an AG jalapeño pod (thanks to Dawn) in a Harvest. Pic to come.

My lone pod. I covered up the other holes with a thick cloth for now because when I lifted a deck on another garden with the white hole plugs I saw that light still came through. I’m wondering if that’s why I got so much algae in my last herb garden. I don’t want that ruining my one shot here at a great jalapeño plant. There’s already signs of change in the seed. (Is that even possible with a pepper seed??)

Snapped January 4. I definitely have 2 seedlings, and possibly a 3rd one underneath there struggling to get out. It’s too soon to tell which of the top 2 I’ll cull. There’s no clear winner or loser, yet. I’m just excited I’m on my way.

I have moved this into the Sprout with the Love Bloom because (after a few merry-go-rounds) it had ended up in the garden with the Sheepnose pepper which now has some weird white stuff under the leaves. Quarantine time!!! (I also added an herb pod for the heck of it).

I’ve got 3 seedlings, with 1 being the clear runt. That’ll be the first to go. Then we’ll see which of the 2 others is stronger.

Ok, I cut the runt out. But there seems to be an unhealthy pallor to the leaves of the remaining two.

I don't know if it is normal or not but I HAVE had that in a project and my plant was fine. I waited for the real leaves to emerge to make sure.

And if you're really worried, maybe a SMALL dose of ca-mg wouldn't hurt.

It’s looking like I’ll be snipping the one on the right.

My jalapeño got its own garden last night (it had been sharing the Sprout), and I topped it as well. I hope I didn’t cut it too close to the new side shoots.

I think you got the cutting right. It always says to cut close to the side shoots if you can, and it also looks like you have the right amount of branching below the cut.

Thanks Dawn. If worse comes to worst, I definitely have 4 other baby branches emerging below. If I get 6, that’ll be gravy.
