I started a new Bounty of pac choi last night.
I am over being burned out on it and am looking forward to a new crop!

My pak choy seemed to be growing slowly. When the Bounty beeped for nutrients, I took a look at the water. It was scummy and I saw that I had forgotten to plug the pump in.
So I cleaned the tank, rinsed the roots, gave them plant food, and they look 100% better today!

I've found I only want to fill every other hole with choi. Choi is my favorite salad green.

I had to go ahead and thin these out. They are growing so fast! I may have to remove a couple more later.
I ate the pickings, and they were so tender, so crisp and so sweet. I could have eaten a bowlful!

What variety of pac choi is that? It is just plain pak choy (Brassica Rapa Chinensis) from Sow Right Seeds. It is very vigorous.

I am still looking for a replacement for my pac Choi Shiro from David's Seeds. That was my favorite. It isn't available anymore.

I really want to get my eggplant started, but I am enjoying the pak choi too much to terminate it just yet.
I have gotten several harvests from it already.

Again you make me sorry that I terminated my rogue Pak Choy, Sher! That's lovely stuff. 🥬

lynnee, if you are sensitive to bitter, you might not like it. But it's my favorite green. I love it raw, or sauteed with a soy sauce based Chinese sauce.

I really want to come up with a better lighting option for my greens totes. I don't want to hang them from the ceiling any more. I haven't seen a good easy solution yet. I want to make them more portable to be moved if necessary. I want to start pigging out on greens again.

mike, it is not pretty, but I have built raised bars (from wood and also from pvc) to suspend grow lights from in a large closet.
You just need a bar across the top with legs and feet to hold them upright.
I bet a sturdy clothes hanger rack would work.
