The 12-pod AG Moss Rose Kit came today! Half the pods went into a vacant Harvest. The kit was shaken up quite a bit in transit, so I hope that the sponges still have seeds in them. (The kit was boxed and not crushed, and there didn't seem to be loose seeds in the kit, but the pods and nutrient bottles were jumbled up.)

This is going to be so exciting! Moss roses are some of my favorite flowers. Delicate and bold at the same time!

Can't wait to see them grow. Also I would contact AG about all the loose seeds.

They are growing very well! I bet the sweet squirrel helps.

Day 26. The Moss Roses have buds! (0ne bud is clearly visible on the tall stem next to the light post.) Some have red stems, some have yellow.

Day 33. This is one of my very favorite colors in a flower! The background is bad for photos, but I needed the downstairs location for a new strawberry garden. Strawberries need to be watched; moss roses don't.

Today the orange flower is gone, but there is a new pretty pink one. I'm going to take pics of the individual blooms, and then post a collage. I was expecting to have a display of blooming flowers--had no idea that moss rose blooms were so short-lived. No doubt it didn't help that the room temp went to 80 degrees F. yesterday. I hate the south-facing window in the second bedroom!

Does anyone know whether it's normal for Moss Rose leaves to drop off easily when touched?
Are the plants too delicate to survive outdoors in full sun for half a day?

lynnee, they do sometimes drop leaves. But they love full sun and thrive outdoors. They look delicate, but they are not.
They might not be getting enough light indoors. Mine didn't look very healthy in the Harvest.

Thanks, Shawn and Sher. Mine don't look very happy, but the warmer room temperature after relocation may have a lot to do with it.
