I had prepared a Harvest with the seed tray already. Today, I planted 8 pods of Chinese Forget-Me-Nots, 7 pods with Poppies and another 8 pods with "Blue Forget Me Not" seeds. The Chinese and the Blue are clearly very different, as the Blues are microscopic and the Chinese are about the size of a smallish peppercorn. Here are the details: Chinese Forget-Me-Nots - from Burpee, 16" height and 45-50 days to bloom. California Poppies, Dancing Ballerinas - from Renee's Garden, 12-15" height and 58 days to maturity. Blue Forget Me Not Seeds - from New Hill Farms, 16" height and 30 days to maturity. We'll see how it goes!? I've not grown any of these before. Sooooo excited!!

Day 3: Good things are happening! I can see that most all of the Chinese Forget-Me-Nots have started to germinate. There's something happening in a few of the poppies and maybe 2 of the other Forget Me Nots. Fun stuff!!!

Day 4: You can actually see stuff happening now! The 8 on the right-hand side are the Chinese Forget-Me-Nots, the 8 on the left are the Blue Forget Me Nots and the middle 7 are the Poppies.

Day 10: We went to the Home Show today. Before we left, I filled up a Bounty with water, so that it would be "room temp" when we got back. Got back and I relocated the best 5 Chinese and the best 4 Blue Forget Me Nots into the Bounty. Then I placed 3 of the poppies in a Sprout. The Poppies are looking very fragile. We'll see how everyone takes to their new spots!
I had to set up the Bounty for Flowers and change the Number of Days too, to 10. Set the time and all that. Next time I'm up about 4AM, I'll reset the Sprout to come on then.

Good job with the poppies! Poppies are hard to transplant. Has anyone tried California poppies in an AG? They're one of my favorite flowers, and that was true before we came to live in California.

The 3 in my sprout are California Poppies -- Dancing Ballerinas from Renee's Garden. They look rather fragile, but they are growing.

I'm posting the picture below of the cutest little poppy ever!!! There are a few more, right behind her. I am not posting pictures of the Forget-Me-Nots. The "Blue" have not yet shown any flowers. The "Chinese" look more like weeds. I may just forget the whole lot of them and make them disappear!

Hmmm... let me see,.... you're trying to forget the Forget-me-nots?
We only want to see pics of the successes anyway!

Thanks! Me too. I'm going to take a good look thru the Forget-Me-Nots and do some significant trimming or...dumping altogether! DH was disappointed when he say the poppy. He thought I was growing herbs...LOL.

Well, still no Forget-Me-Knots...so, I think today is there very last day. Sigh. The poppies are done too. What should I plant next?

I planted some full size carnations in my "modified" bounty setup to allow taller plants. So far they have sprouted nicely. I debated whether to try full-size carnations or dwarf variety.
You might consider DWARF CARNATIONS.
From the internet....
"Carnations typically grow around three feet tall, whereas the dwarf varieties grow approximately 10 to 12 inches tall"
