I did 5 rinse n refills. The farm, Cherokee Purple Tomato Bucket and, 3 Bounty's. I added 6 or so Tomato clips as the vines are getting longer everywhere. My grow rooms are looking bushy as I am allowing the Tomato plants to keep growing within reason anyway. A few of the variety's I am trying for the first time indoors might be to large, time will tell. My Sugar Baby Cherry Tomato plant has produced the first ripe toms. Looking forward to a salad today with those tasty toms. 20241115_083239

I had a weird thing happen overnight, with curly parsley of all things. I had a healthy little plant in a Sprout, nice green color and filling out well. When I went to check on things this morning, the entire plant had wilted and all the branches were just laying flat on the grow deck. I pulled the plant out, trimmed all the wilted branches off, leaving a few that are just newly emerging from the base.
I also trimmed the roots and R&R'd the Sprout, though it did not appear to need cleaning. The roots are white and healthy looking. I am mystified as to what happened... there has been no change in the temperature in that room and the plant was perfectly fine yesterday. No nutes added... nuthin'. What the heck. I don't know if it will recover but it's just so strange.
I also terminated a banana pepper plant that had terrible edema. That's the first time I have had a pepper plant with edema so I finally dragged out the fan and turned it on my remaining plants. I think the leaf canopies are too dense so I need to do some trimming.

Today I harvested the peppers on my AG bell pepper plants and my Aloha pepper plants. All of the peppers were ripe, so I took all of them off and am now waiting to see whether the plants will continue to produce. The plants have been horribly neglected, with few R&Rs, and erratic additions of nutrients. The AG bells responded to their starvation diet by ripening all the developing peppers--hence the half-size peppers in the photo. The Aloha pepper has produced beautiful, full-sized peppers, despite having been mistreated so badly twice that it dropped all of its blooms. It's very healthy now. The peppers grow very close to the stem. The AGs are due for a cleanout this weekend, so I'll post photos of the plants after that's done. I also hope to pickle the peppers this weekend. Looks like the Aloha peppers did well for you.
I found them to be one of best bell peppers for the AG. They don't grow too tall and they have a lot of meat and a great flavor.
You have to be careful as you alluded to the fact that they grow close to the stems with
thick stalks. They are somewhat difficult to cut from the vine.

Harvested a full pasta bowl of various Aerogarden greens. Mostly Parris Island Cos romaine lettuce, watercress, Tatsoi, the first few leaves from the rocket/arugula, and snippings from my young herb garden (parsley, Thai basil, and thyme) The onions and peppers were NOT Aerogarden grown. I topped my salad with scrambled eggs, a couple teaspoons of olive oil, a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar, some seasoning and salt and pepper. It was delicicious! Nothing but AG greens under the onion and pepper!Also did a quick rinse and refill on the Parris Island Cos garden, a day early. Because I forgot when firing up the second microgreens garden that I only needed water, and I'd mixed nutrients. But said nutrients should be fine for the lettuces as well, so ...

5 more Bounty Rinse n Refills. Feels like I just did this yesterday. Have 3 different Cherry Tomatoes starting to mature. Sugar Baby 20241120_153319 White Currant 20241120_153329 Roselle 20241120_153338 Still waiting on Bumble Bee Purple and 1 more I thought was White Currant but, are way to large to be those. Time will tell. Looking forward to another Salad today.

Today I harvested 4 Hatch chiles -- What is causing the black spots on the ends? I also harvested a handful of Orange Hats, which ended up in some scrambled eggs along with some cubed ham, some Tilamook cheese, a dash of onion salt, a couple of twists of black pepper, and one of those Hatch chiles. Hatch chile was nummy, but the jury is still out on those Orange Hats. They had a bit of a tartness to them. Maybe I harvested too soon, but they were orange. Maybe I was hoping they would be a little bigger. Or maybe I just don't like cherry tomatoes all that much. Time will tell, because I've got a bunch of green ones coming along. (Also have some AG Harvest Elites coming along, too. Early Black Friday Sale, my ass. We all know they are just clearing the shelves.)

Oh, boy, I had that problem too. This pepper tends to have short stalky stems and it grows between the branches. I actually had to break one in two to harvest it. They are frequently deformed as they grow around the stalks. I started to nudge them daily and early as they began to grow so that they didn't lodge themselves between stalks. If you move them slightly every few days, you can guide it to a location that has enough room for it to grow.

golddustpeak, my Aloha pepper kind of sorted itself out, so that the peppers pointed outwards from the stem. Also, it branched, and started leaning sideways from the weight of the developing peppers on the branch, so that gravity pulled the peppers away from the stalk. So, like scarfguy, I'd suggest nudging any developing peppers away from the main stalk. You also might want to remove blossoms that form right at the stalk, to encourage branching and developing peppers on the branches. I terminated my Aloha yesterday, because it had been so neglected. The roots were still healthy, but the basic AG bell peppers are easier to grow. I need easy plants at present, because of a course of physical therapy to improve my balance. I have to make time for two daily 20-minute exercise sessions, but they're working!

Wow lynnee those Peppers all look wonderful . Agreed! Absolutely beautiful peppers! Were they grown in a Bounty or in a Farm unit lynnee ? The Alohas were grown in a Bounty Elite, and never required full extension of the light pole.

Yesterday I terminated my two AG peppers that were growing in a Farm 12XL. They had a lot of discolored leaves, due to being shorted on nutrients and clean water. I decided it would be easier to start over than to prune them. Another reason to do R&Rs every 2 or 4 weeks, is that the cleanup is much easier when you terminate a garden. The water in the Farm bowl didn't smell, because it had growing plants in it, but it was an ugly brown. There was also a lot of nutrient sediment in the bowl--fortunately it didn't clog the aquarium pump I use to remove the water.

Over the weekend, I cleaned a bunch of Harvests to get ready for crop rotation.
And today was planting day.
I planted four Harvests --
Chives Merlot Jericho Vedikule
I've got an open Harvest that will get some cilantro tomorrow, or maybe even tonight if I can haul my ass out of this chair to plant one more Harvest, and I have 3 Harvests cleaned and ready to take a second wave of lettuce in a couple or three weeks,

slw , my first thought was "root rot", my second was "natural gas exposure", and my third was "predator damage". Root rot is obviously out. Do you have a gas stove, or could the plant have been exposed to some other kind of chemical fumes? Could a pet or some kind of insect have gnawed the main stem? Could the plant have suddenly run out of nutes? My parsley sprouts have sometimes died for no apparent reason, but I've never had a healthy seedling die for no reason.

Lynnee--the parsley remains a mystery. It was sharing a Sprout with 2 bunches of green onions and all were doing great. The onions continue to thrive. No to natural gas or predators, no temperature extremes. I ended up tossing the sponge and moving on.
