Step 9: Putting the pump back in.
The cord tucks underneath the pump a bit, then you just wiggle the tube back onto the pump and screw the connection back onto the grow deck. As you can see, even all the soaking and scrubbing didn't touch a lot of the residue.

Seated back in place:
Don't forget to reinstall a pump filter before replacing the pump cover! The single tab shown at the back slots in first, then click in the two side tabs. The filter is home-made from a green scrubbie. I may or may not have some more of those already cut up and stashed, but I haven't found them, so this one was sanitized and going back into use. I may need to buy some pump filters.

After:
A little cleaner looking, but not radically so. Oh well! It's sanitized within an inch of its life!
Step 10: Replace the support struts back in the grow bowl. And reinstall the water indicator. Magnet goes in the down position.
Struts went in nice and easy after the cleaning. Are they necessary? I don't know. I'm always afraid I'll break one, but so far, that hasn't happened. I like that the new AG models don't have them, however!
Before:
After:
Considerably cleaner!
After, from the other side:
This pretty much concludes my deep cleaning adventure, though when I have time, I'll try and take a shot of the unplanted Classic 7 with the LED adaptation to add to this, if that works out. Or even if it doesn't.
I now plan to deal with buildup as it happens, rather than leave it go!
For those who may question the water indicator magnet position, I have cross-checked that against a new-in-box old AG model released the following year in 2009. AND, because I took apart my brand new Harvest Elite Slim, I found the water level indicator is the identical design to the Classic 7 and THAT magnet was also in the down position from the factory! So I feel comfortable this is the correct way to install it.
