Your photos give me outdoor trellis envy! Do those green ones come with the City Pickers boxes, slw ? You say you're a lazy gardener, but someone is putting a lot of work into planting and weeding and watering those raised beds and boxes! Thanks, Lynnee. They are actually easy to maintain; the Earthboxes and City Pickers have covers so no weeding to do. I get very few weeds in the raised beds. What I like most is the ease of watering with the grow boxes; just add water into the "tube" until it flows out the overflow... no guesswork involved like with top-watering.
The green trellises did not come with the planters. Actually, they were a Vine product and I really like them so I'm going to buy some more. They are very sturdy. www.amazon.com/dp/B0CSJTWKS4

I am jealous! My green bean plants are only about 2 inches tall. I planted them in my raised beds. Are those in the City Pickers?

I just came in from cutting my first yellow squashes. This should be plenty for the hubs and me to have as a side dish. The largest one is about 7" long.
In the background are AG Red Robin cherry toms and one banana pepper. I need to harvest a bunch of banana peppers since my AG plants are loaded with 'em.

My husband said if the boxes get too warm we can get cinder blocks to raise them up higher above the pavement. Not sure how that would look around the pool, though. Here's how they'd sort of look slw ! We don't have a pool (blame the hubby for that!) but I have our plants on our uncovered patio. I have them in grow bags, set in saucers on a riser so they don't just sit in the water. We put them up on two layers of bricks to give air under them. I bought them and filled them before I read "don't use black grow bags in the South". Well, duh, I should have realized that. I also have the generic tomato planter just like yours with my Purple Reigns in it. I can't put the planter/bags in the yard because we have a sprinkler system. So I purchased a yet-to-be-assembled shade green house to cover them with that will provide some shade when it gets really hot in a few weeks. I'll post a photo when I get it assembled.

Lookin' good CatHerder! I wish we had put a wider deck around the pool but back in 1996 I wanted more "grassy area" so it is what it is. I used to have a really nice raised garden that was 16' x 8', but the neighbor on that side planted an oak tree that has shaded out most of the yard. So now I have a limited area that has enough sunshine to grow any vegetables.
I'm considering enlarging a flowerbed that runs along the back fence and filling it with mulch, just to sit all the garden boxes in. My husband has been so busy this spring with settling his mother's estate that I hate to bug him with my "projects." I have a bum knee and other problems so I can't do a lot of lifting and digging by myself.

I finally got around to ordering a cover for my City Pickers and it will be here this week. After looking at these pics, I have to decide what I want to put in it. Of course I need more soil for my raised beds so I can finish planting those too. It seems every time I turn around I am going back to the store for more soil. Am I really saving money here! LOL!

Our house was built in 2010 and there aren't any trees in the back yard or neighbor's yard to shade anything. We do have a detached four car garage (two story) that shades a lot of the morning sun though. I wanted to put them along the back brick fence, in a raised garden like you are talking about, but it radiates too much heat too (and sprinkler issues). Hopefully my shade green house will keep my plants alive this summer, but if not, then I may have to move them next year. Sorry to hear about your husband's mother. My husband lost his father in February and has been doing the same thing since then and I too feel bad bugging him with my gardens. But I think he's starting to like helping, and it's a distraction. I've had two back surgeries, so he helps me lift dirt and mulch bags sometimes. I'm the 'get hands in dirt' type and do all the work outside - he's the "Eww... dirt!" type. Funny how that works out sometimes.
