These aren't as large as I would like.

Maybe they will still grow larger. They do look great.

Mine didn’t grow as big in my last garden, either. I attributed it to the fact my seeds are old, but I know you bought new ones. They look great anyway.

Actually Mary, these are the same seeds I grew in 2015. I wanted to give them another shot before I threw them away.

At least they are still viable. I hope they taste as good.

Actually Mary, these are the same seeds I grew in 2015. I wanted to give them another shot before I threw them away. Mine are from around then too, no later that’s for sure. This is the only old seed where I’ve seen a difference in the end product/fruit. As long as my old seeds germinate, I get the same thing as when they were fresh. They either germinate or they don’t. With this seed, however, it does seem to make a difference in the fruit. I’ve no doubt this happens with other fruits, vegetables, flowers, etc., just not amongst the things I’ve grown from old seed.

I remember your past Hungary project and it was fabulous. Looks like this will be a winner as well, Mike!

Well folks, I think this project is a bust. I first grew this packet of seeds three years ago on a CFL machine. The peppers were twice as big and they ripened to red. These have ripened to mud color. I don't think I will let seeds get over a year old from now on. [/url]

You win some, you lose some. I knew these might be a problem. I ate one. The inside of the pepper was red. It didn't taste fully ripe, but the reddest portions did. That was the taste I miss. The original crop harvested in January 2015, was one of the sweetest peppers I've ever tasted.
When the Ukrainian peppers are done with this crop, I am going to take down the Ultras and set up the Farm on the cart they were on. Time for some serious hot peppers again. Ghost peppers on one side, Red Habanero on the other.

I'm using some of these sweet peppers along with green onions and walnuts to be mixed with coleslaw. I love that.
