I'm doing fine. It's still tender. A 60-hour work week didn't help.
The real question is how are you doing? Did everything go well with your surgery? I've been praying for you.

Hang in there Shawn. My Dad went through that surgery about 5 years and he's doing terrific.
Meanwhile, I spent hours in the ER yesterday. It turns out I have an infection in the leg that I cut my foot. I had both Monday and Tuesday I was feeling bad. Yesterday, my leg hurt, I felt bad, and by afternoon I started getting the chills. It wasn't even cold out. I called my doctors office and she told me to go to the ER. She was mostly concerned about blood clots. At the hospital I had a fever of 102°. I feel a bit better today, but I'm taking a vacation day from work.

DId they give you antibiotics? Hopefully ones that do you fill you up with fluids. If possible make sure you gently massage your leg away from you, (never towards you) to help aid in any clots. I that it heals soon and you are back to your self soon!

I that it heals soon and you are back to your self soon! Holy crap! That's BAD stuff! A localized infection that causes fever is becoming systemic, spreading, and could spread to your vital organs. I hope you did get antibiotics, hopefully after being on IV antibiotics for a few hours or given a big dose of some hard core oral to boost your take home prescription. Drink lots of water, take care of that leg, and take more than one day off work. I've had more than one person in my life that has had bad outcomes from situations like this that weren't properly treated. Take care of you.

Yes, they prescribed antibiotics. There are no blood clots. I had an ultrasound for that. These hospital visits are getting old, though.

Oh, Mike, I’m so glad there are no clots, but I still share the concern about the infection itself. So scary. I’m so glad you got care when you did. I’m pulling for you. Keep us posted.

Things are getting better. I woke up this morning feeling pretty good. That's three days in a row. When I got home from work, yesterday, I changed clothes and noticed the infection is fading quickly. This morning it's even better. I hope to get outside and walk a little today. I'm only going to try for 1/2 mile today. I have to find larger walking shoes.

That is great Mike. Today I actually got outside and walked. Not much as I am limited but I did walk.

Thanks. I didn't get to walk outside. But I went to the major grocery store, "Meijers" today. As you walk in, the produce is to the left. The rest of the grocery follows along the East side of the store to the far corner. Pharmacy and grooming item are on the opposite corner of the store. The Home section is in the remaining corner. I needed items from all four corners, today. It is a 200,000 sq. ft. store. I was exhausted when I got back to my car. But I just finished lunch. Meijers freshly fried chicken. 10 pc. legs and thighs for $4.99.

Going round the supermarket, especially the super/mega ones can be exhausting. On days I have to get Spring Water of bottled and heavier groceries I order through Stop and Shop Peapod and have it delivered. It is well worth the extra bucks and a tip to the guy not to have to lug all that weight plus my own tubby body up to the second floor apartment. My back suffers from it a few days later. Be gentle with yourself.
