Massive trim today, ala Shawn, and tried to turn the mature plants as best I could. Also did R n R with GH nutes.

I still don’t have any color change, but I found myself making salsa and guacamole with the AG cilantro, so I went ahead and plucked 2 green penos to use with it. The first was super hot and the second (shown) was very mild. I carefully kept my knife away from the seeds on the first one and it was still really hot. I only used half of that pepper because you know me, I’m a wimp, but I used all of the milder pepper. Minced together they were perfect. Cilantro before a stir Minced peppers on top, and stirred in Salsa. This also includes the last of the summer tomatoes.

They’re not the best presentation (because I was still mixing) which is why I didn’t put it under Our AG Food.😂. But it’s tasty nonetheless. Now I have the small crisis of a chip shortage.

The greatest concentration of heat is not in the seeds, but rather the "placenta", which is the white ribs that the seeds are attached to. I find that trimming this will tame even the nastiest chilies.

I find that trimming this will tame even the nastiest chilies. Oh that’s right - Thanks for the reminder. I misspoke. I definitely avoided those sections too by slicing vertically in between ribs and avoiding the core altogether, not across the pepper’s diameter (if that poor description makes sense). Still nutso heat on the one pepper. The 2nd (mild) pepper I butchered it all up, and still very little heat. Then today, I was making turkey burgers and cut up a 3rd pepper. Blander than a green bell pepper, lol. All 3 peppers I grabbed from in between the plants, so I don’t know to whom this progeny belongs. Which might not even make a difference, but still I’d like to keep track. While I have experienced the rare heat-less jalapeño, they were always grown in soil, and they were the first born fruit on the plant. I’ve never had an AG grown jalapeño result in such mild heat. (Not that this Princess and a Pea is really complaining, lol). It’s just a first for me.

I have not bought the GH nutes yet. I am so afraid I will mess it up.

I understand that. Especially after watching me mess it up. But it’s not hard - you just have to be slightly smarter about it than me, a low bar lol. As either Kate or Dawn pointed out, the worst part is the inevitable waste when you mix up a gallon of formula and can’t use it all. In between R n R’s.
