Recommendation: I have has 100% germination with Salad Bowl (both green and red) in the AG . I grow it a lot! The variety is a loose leaf and can be found all over the internet for custom projects. I have several projects recorded on the forum. FWIW.
Just curious, OzzyCoop..have you had any problem with green algae showing in your fill corner?
Corinne: What sort of spacing does Salad Bowl need? Depends on how much you can eat! I am a salad fan, so I plant a full garden with about 4 or 5 seeds in a full deck. Here is a link to the SS6 project
There was also one started in a Sprout, but I found it not to be enough for the wait for me. The link is there as well. Some people only plant 2 seeds in every other pod..it all depends on how much you can handle before it gets 'over-ripe'. If you flip through my photos in those link it will give you an idea.

Thanks @cornne! That's very helpful. If we like it I suspect we could go through quite a bit of it. I'm going to be all about density as I move toward more capacity so this may be a great candidate for me.

Ok so update. I have been having problems with my plants browning. As someone mentioned I drained my gardens and ran plain water in them for 4 days. Today I filled them and decided not to use the AG nutrients for the time being. Until I can get things figured out. I bought nutrients called Master Blend. I am going to give them a try. I also dosed with 3g of Epsom salts per 2 gallons. I've used salts before and I noticed that the company who makes the nutrients recommends added salt and calcium. I will post the results here. I am getting some good tomato production and am going to try really hard not to lose these. On a side note I bought Yellow Tumbling Tom seeds and some Ukranian seeds called Black Prince. They will get planted in the next couple of days. I'm not getting my hopes up but at least I will get to try out my trellis system that came with the Farm. They will go in my second Farm+ where my lettuce was. They will be large plants so I will have my hands full. 20180911_102842 by OzzyCoop, on Flickr 20180911_102818 by OzzyCoop, on Flickr

They do look improved! I’m happy for you that you are still getting fruiting despite the problem. I would remove the most damaged of the leaves, if you haven’t already. I just did that on my pepper plants that I transplanted from AG to outside - I had thought they were goners, but snipping off the most unhappy leaves helped redirect the energy. (Mine was a different problem, though, so I say this only FWIW. ).

I agree with Mary. I too would snip off any old dry or browned leaves. Very full plants and I spy a tomato.

Yeah I have to trim bad leaves. There are quite a few. But right now I can play "find the tomato" with my plants. I started to count them but gave up because there were so many. Plus I am lazy. Everyday I find new baby fruits. I don't know if it is necessasary but I have been buzzing the back of the open flowers with an electric toothbrush. A cool Spiderman one I* bought at the dollar store.

So here we are at day 121. The tomatoes are doing better than I could have hoped for. I was away for a few weeks so my nephew tended to the plants for me. I came back to lots of mushy tomatoes since he doesn't eat them. No biggie I just trimmed them off and the new growth is taking off. I am adding so much water to these thirsty plants. That is a 12" measuring stick for needless reference. 20181112_101126 by OzzyCoop, on Flickr 20181112_101022 by OzzyCoop, on Flickr 20181112_101057 by OzzyCoop, on Flickr

So after 170 days I am calling my plants burned out. So many tomatoes. This picture here was a couple of weeks ago and after I got all of the ripe tomatoes off the plants they seem to be doing nothing but drinking about a gallon of water a day lol. There are only a few buds. I'm not too upset though. My plants and I have had some good times together. The Red toms were amazingly productive. The Gold were about 60% as productive as the Reds. So they were productive but not as much. I don't care for the flavor of the Golden Harvest to be honest. I didn't find their sometimes bland, sometimes lightly sweet taste appealing. The Red Toms just blew them out of the water. So tasty. So now I am going to clean these dying plants out of the gardens and replant the top and bottom gardens with..... sunflowers! I can't wait. 20181215_140413 by OzzyCoop, on Flickr

WOW, that is a HUGE and LUSH garden of tomatoes. You had a great haul.
I am looking forward to seeing how your sunflowers do. I was looking for dwarf ones but even those look to be too large for the Bounty. So I will be watching for yours.

Yeah I found a variety through Park Seeds and they claim 12"-16" I think. And another variety off of Amazon at around 16". The AG Farm + raises to about 24" so hopefully I'll be ok. I suspect I'll need to use my awesome trellis that came with the AG. They claim 4"-6" heads which isn't too heavy so I don't know.

My first post on this site. I feel Aerogarden needs to make some rubber covers like on the Bounty for the Farm fill ports. My Farm XL has the same issue with the lights and algae. Come on Aerogarden fix this oversight.

Welcome to the forum rich. Happy to have you.
That is a great suggestion for AG. Our very own nick has made some using a 3D printer. You can see them here. He may still have some for sale but I am not sure.
