In the past few months, I've been adding quite a few houseplants alongside my AGs. I thought it might be fun to post a few pictures and show off a bit. This set of succulents I just put together today. The single leaf off to the left is one that I'm cloning and it has successfully rooted. The downside of cloning them is that they do look a bit off while they are first growing. The big one on the bottom left of this collection used to be a foot tall. That's the plant that the leaf in the previous picture came from. This is another set I started a while ago, mostly with cloned bits. Still looks pretty bare. This is the one I've been working on the longest. There are a few clones getting rooted, but it's primarily made up of plants that I bought. Here's one of the clones in that mix that is starting to get going. There's a tiny new plant starting at the base of the old leaf. Eventually, that leaf will die off and the new plant will start growing on its own. Closer view of the itty bitty new plant. On to more traditional plants!

The collection is growing... probably by too much. I got into air plants recently, and between those and the houseplants, I think I'm around 75 plants on top of the AGs. My living room is basically filled with green things. I have a couple of air plants getting ready to bloom. This is a special occasion because each plant only blooms once in its life, and it can take years to get a plant large enough to bloom. It's also a bit sad because the plant slowly dies after that. It puts all its energy into seeds if it is pollinated and pups regardless. (And yes, the second one is in a magnetic dish stuck on the side of a Farm Plus)

These are lovely.
I had these years ago but dried up. Then again I had no clue what they were at the time. Do they need water?

Yes! Unless your house is really, really humid they need additional water to survive. Because they don't use dirt for nutrients, a lot of what they "eat" comes from water. Kinda like hydroponics plants . I have a few that are desert species that just get misted, but I have a soaking party with the rest every week. They also get an air plant-specific fertilizer in the water every couple of months. Standard plant food uses chemicals that the air plants can't metabolize so it's poisonous to them.
