but it still makes me feel appreciated. Always a plus I’d love a try at your salsa with my grease, too.

Believe it or not, this plant is still producing at a fair rate. It's over a year old, and I think I've taken regular harvests from it for the last 11 months.
The peppers are not large, but they have a wonderful flavor. It is the only plant in the house that ultimately survived the great "kill it all so I don't get evicted" panic of the spring. Right now, it's it and the Jalapeno GAL at home, and the AG Jalapenos in the Harvest at work (which are looking great for the upcoming third harvest).
This morning when I got up a lot of the Lemon Drops were looking pretty plump, so I decided to harvest what's ripe and bring them in to share with the coworkers. One likes slicing one up and putting it on his breakfast sandwich. Others take them home and report back to me how much it hurt.
So, we have a new guy in the office. I asked him if he liked chili peppers, and when he answered in the affirmative, I gave him a few. Without asking/thinking/whatever, he pops one in his mouth and bites down.
I swear, I could smell the released capsaicin from six feet away. Another guy was gasping from how the smell made his throat almost close up.
Gotta say, the new guy toughed his way through it pretty well, although he did look like he was still feeling it 15 minutes later. I told him he'd be comfortably numb for the remainder of the work day.

This is a keeper for sure. Will you grow it again once this plant is done? I give it to the new guy, then again he can not act like a wimp to his new peers LOL

With a probable move to Cleveland sometime in the coming year or two, I've almost completely got my mind set on starting another one of these in the new location. I love the way they look, I love the green centers in the blossom, I love the whole C. Baccatum-ness of the plant itself. It is indeed one of my all-time favorites!

Poor new guy! What a trooper. He likely felt the effects of that for quite a bit longer than those 10 minutes, lol.

Just had a large harvest from this one, but after that and pruning away all the dead stuff, it appears that this one is finally slipping away from me. But, I got a good year from it.

I have something sort of interesting I want to try next. More details as I get to recycling this AG.

When I recently returned from Cleveland, I found this plant to be well and truly dead. Before I left, I noticed the pump wasn't running. Probably jammed up with the roots.
Before I'd left, I ordered a new pump, and it's now sitting on my kitchen counter (closest to the front door, so that's where the mail ends up).
I took my last couple of harvests and put them in a little bowl to air dry. Yes, I have a dehydrator, but I'm also lazy.
Tonight, I took some of the drier ones, crushed them up with my fingers (hilarity ensued later when I rubbed my eyes), and used some in place of the regular crushed red peppers on a pizza.
Amazingly delicious. The citrusy bit still comes through after drying.
I have a bunch more in the freezer, so will probably get off my ever-expanding backside and dry those, too.

I may try these. They sound good.
We need to put Caution tape on your fingers
