I’ve noticed a few of the peppers on my pepper plants have been turning black. Usually it seems to be the ones getting the most exposure to direct light. Root systems in all plants appear to be healthy. Most of the peppers seem to be maturing fine. Here are some examples: 1. Sweet Heat 2. Admiral Bell I’ve obviously removed these peppers but I’m wondering if anyone knows something obvious that I’m missing here. Little help?

That happens many times before turning red.
I would not worry. Leave them on the plant

I’ve had that happen too, but they usually go from green to black to red. Did these dark areas go dark after first turning red?

You can see how small the bell was in the photo I posted above. I guess I didn’t realize black was a stage that was possible.

Not on all peppers nick . Some will do that for whatever reason. I at first also took them off but one day decided to leave it on as it was firm and still looked good. It then turned red. So leave them on. I wish my gardens were still up I would have taken a picture but I tore t hem all down to start fresh.

Good to know. If I see them turning black in the future I’ll leave them on!
