So I splurged on a bounty elite, and be it a good or bad idea my hubby really wants Anaheim peppers. (Which a.g. website does say the bounty can handle them). So I'm trying to figure out how I'll stake them. A.G. sells this trellis for the ultra so I'm curious do you think it would fit the bounty? Or would I be better off McGyver-ing my own? I know I already will have this dilemma as soon as my cherry tom gets bigger very soon. Its in a slim; gotta start somewhere I guess.

If there was 1 accessory which I would say "save your money" it would be the trellis. It is useless. plants grow mid way and then bend over. I have owned so many of these which came with the machines and threw away just about all of them. Trash. What is a good, proven substitute? A DIY contraption made out of medium size binder clips from staples or online. A few badge reels with a wide plastic band that snaps on ..or some velcro garden tape. Here is what I use: I have here the binder clip and attached is the reel. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0057567U0/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1&tag=vig-20
I clip it on to the outside lip of the Hood and then either use the reel or run gentle Velcro Garden Tape through and around the plant branches for support. Works Best for me every time. I got the idea from Mike..

I like Corinne's idea. But before you buy those trellis, one should come with your Bounty. It should have come with the Ultra if bought new.
However let me look, I may have a set here and if I do I would be happy to send it.

To add to Shawn. I just bought a Bounty Elite a few weeks ago, and mine did come with a trellis. So, yours should have as well. I have yet to use it, but was suspicious it would properly do the job.... I used to read a blog of an AGer with an Ultra (circa 2012/13) and they seemed to have used a different trellis system then that looked to me like a pulley? He said it was excellent. I wonder why the change?

that system was screwed right into the hood which had more room for that. now the LED shield is covering a lot of that extra area.

Seconding the previous posts re: the trellis.
The standard trellis is garbage. Running with your own DIY setup is preferable. .
Poblano plants are smaller than many pepper plants, so you might be able to get away with growing one in a Bounty (which only has 24 inches of vertical space), but you really won't be able to grow a lot in the AG besides that.
My recommendation would be to grow it to a transplant size in the bounty, then slowly let the plant suck water from the AG, keeping it refilled at around an inch or so, so most of the roots become used to aeration, then transplant it into soil once the winter is a bit less harsh.
For that, you can use a self-watering bucket setup, it works wonders with peppers. That would free up the aerogarden space for full utilization with things like lettuce or herbs.

I have never used the AG Trellis. But I have to say there are a LOT of peppers you can grow in the Aerogarden both sweet and hot. I have grown many different varieties and only transplanted one because I ended it as I wanted to grow something new. Of course if I want a pepper taller then I can grow in the AG I will start it in there and transplant.
