I see some good sales for Bountys, but seem to remember that some people were unhappy with the light panel becoming defective. @corinne, was that you? Anybody else have this problem?

Happy, I do know that Corinne did have some issues with her hood. I have two Bountys, an Ultra and an Extra and have nt had any issues (knocking wood). My oldest unit is three years now.

The hoods would start to strobe. I have gotten a few to replace them and they have not done it. BUT..I saved my item boxes just in case.

But...I would rather get a new one, and if that one failed, ship it back for a new replacement,no matter how many times ..rather than futzin' around with mods on a new one sent to me.
You are gifted in that way and are confident that your mods will work...most are not . However, the posted info is valuable for those who CAN figure out capacitors, matching wires, soldering irons etc. It is good to hear from an experienced, veteran Aerogarden user and the mods that have been made..especially on the older machines to make them better. Please share on any mods you have done on the CFL's. I would find it interesting even if it is over my head to try out.

I have four of them. The additional light produces a significant increase in pepper yield for me. It also has much greater success with the hotter peppers.
If you will stick with herbs, greens, flowers and tomatoes I don't think overall production is that much greater than an Ultra. My best tomato plants were on an Ultra. But, I've only grown one cherry tomato garden on a Bounty.

He he. How could I resist? Since the lights are so bright (maybe too bright for lettuce), I just planted some beet seeds in them. How are you enjoying yours?

Mine's still in the box. Anxiously awaiting the pepper pod kit to arrive in the mailbox. 🙄🕰️
