This weekend, with great assistance from my sister, I got my outdoor tomatoes in. Five EarthBoxes, 10 tomatoes. L to R: Esmeralda Golosina, Clint Eastwood’s Rowdy Red, Sunrise Bumblebee, Green Doctors, Indigo Sun, and Red Grape Great White, and something I can’t read . Siberian Black, Michael Pollan Still to be planted : Buttermilk Falls, and possibly Madame Marmande if I can find one.

Oooo...makes me wat to start mine. I have all my boxes ready and the fertilizer kits all arrived. Now all i need to do is have my surgery and get over it! Around here it is not warm enough to plant outside until around Memorial Day, so i have well over a month tho get my act together. Yours always look so 'ready', Mary! Kudos.

How have I not heard of EarthBox before now? Thank you MaryL! I was originally going to try to do outdoor hydro for the peppers I've started indoors, but in the past week I'd given up on that idea. This looks like just the right type of outdoor soil system for me. Exciting. And they come in purple. My wife will be pleased.

MaryL, these are looking great!~
nick, I first of of EB's a couple years ago from the forum this one replaced. I actually have one and was going to get it going but between the back and now my foot I am glad I did not as I would not be able to care for it the way it should be. Next year maybe.

I learned of EarthBoxes from Corinne and have never looked back. My sister and I planted nearly identical tomato gardens a couple years ago (from the same vendor), though hers was in ground and mine in EB’s. She is an experienced gardener (I’m not) but she marveled at how much better my tomatoes did in the EB’s. So she took the plunge and bought some. And bought more this year. Even my professional landscaper has bought some now after seeing how well things grow in this system. I don’t know why it should work so much better, but it does. Thanks, Corinne, for the introduction.

MaryLDid you write up a review of your tomato varieties results this year? I always enjoy hearing about the taste. I like that you post the pics of the labels as well. Very informative.
