Welcome!
We just dusted off an old classic AG and put in herbs as well (it's been just under 2 weeks), and we purchased a Farm XL and planted tomatoes and lettuce a few days ago!
Our mint and cilantro didn't sprout, so they are sending new ones (support has been really great about the seeds).
I recommend reading the growing guides linked in each plant type sub-forum. I emailed the tips to myself and then 'snoozed' the email (I use GMail) so the tips pop up when I need to start paying attention. Then I'll put calendar events on my phone (our AGs are in the basement, which we go down in most days, but I still don't want to forget something important!).

danastl, I have all my gardens on Calendar as well and I get notifications to remind me. It really helps alot. If interested and you have room, consider joining the GAL. All you need is to made some more posts to qualify and I am sure you can do it

Just received 3 aerogardens from CyberMonday sale at Macysbut I only ordered 1. I am thinking about using one for herbs, a second for tomatoes and lettuce. Any suggestions. Should I wait before making my decision?

Welcome to the forum peggylgb, we are happy to have you.
WOW, Macy's sure screwed up in your favor. What machines do you have? Herbs is a great choice. I always have one with herbs growing. Tomatoes are a good choice to but make sure that they will fit in the machine. Meaning the height. Also Lettuce is great and a fast grower. However you may want to plant this in a separate unit. Lettuce like cold water and not as much nutes (aka nutrients) as other plants. As for waiting? Well that is up to you
Also I want to mention that I was a newbie too and wanted to say do NOT get discouraged or upset if you have failures. We ALL do! With that said I recommend that you read through the different boards as well as the Members sections for those that are/have grown what you are interested in growing. It may also give you ideas.
Lastly, please post any questions you have, join in on conversations already started and most of all... HAVE FUN with it!
