I don't know if this is just a consequence of getting older, because it seems like taking up gardening in old age is a thing, or just something I never knew before, but I find that Aerogardens (as well as other indoor gardening systems) are just.. wonderful - Creating things (literally) from thin air and water
- The wonderful smell of live plants
- The relaxation that comes of watching them grow
- The feeling of accomplishment
- Being able to do micro-harvests on demand to augment whatever I'm cooking
- A boundless hobby
- And, for a chile-head like me, a source of new and exciting things that I can't find in the supermarket
- With all the lights (from two LED panels and three Extras) in my bedroom, I'm pretty sure that winter seasonal affective disorder isn't going to be a thing anymore

Great post, Dawn! If I may add mine to yours?... 1. knowing that after a life of not being able to grow plants, now I CAN! 2. Having live decorative color in my home. 3. Ditto the smell of fresh green leaves. 4. Having veges that are not covered in wax or preservatives, or lettuce with bugs deep down.
Great thread, Dawn

In no particular order:
1. The ability to grow your own veggies and herbs and know that they are fresh and bug free.
2. The excitement of watching them grow into their own. Seeing the shapes and colors that form.
3. The smell alone that the herbs give off even with the littlest brush of a leaf. The smell of a pepper plant when brushed upon.
4. Knowing that I CAN grow plants indoors when I have a black thumb outdoors.
5. Creating dishes with the items I grow.

- Something that I can exchange love with after a particularly annoying week at work
- An almost foolproof way of failing to fail

Oh, all this!!! You guys nailed it. I love that you articulated all this because reading each “pro” enhanced, for me, the reality of each one.
