My wife and I eat a large salad every day using the Costco spring mix. What Aerogarden(s) would we need to be able to grow our own on a continuous basis?

I have grown lettuce in almost ever unit I have owned (Sprout, Harvest, Extra, Ultra and Bounty). There are many members that grow using the Farm. They plant one side right away then about two weeks later start the other, This way as you trim on, then the next week you can clip from the opposite side. I do not own a Farm so can not verify for sure but if you scroll thru the different Members Gardens you will find those that do have farms growing lettuce.
For me I use a Ultra mostly and plant all 7 pods. After 4 weeks I give them a haircut for a nice salad. I will then let it grow more before trimming more. Me personally will harvest three times then I end it and restart. However, there are members that let it grow and grow and grow and after many months still have lettuce growing.
I know the above may not have answered your question but other may chime in for their experiences.
g, do you have an Aerogarden? If so what models?

All greens plants eventually comes to an end. You can just stagger the planting in the machines you have..if you are big salad eaters like I am, you can just have 9 pod or Farms. I have the 7 and 9 pods machines and just plant one garden a few weeks after I plant the first. I don;t know about staggered planting as far as light getting to the smaller plants after the larger ones are spreading out..could be problematic.
But staggered machine sowing works for 1 big salad eater here.

Shawn, I just got a Harvest Slim with the herb kit.
Corrine, you have 16 pods for salads? Do you produce enough for two people to eat daily?

My wife and I eat a large salad every day using the Costco spring mix. What Aerogarden(s) would we need to be able to grow our own on a continuous basis? Daily? For a few days perhaps,, but it is not a bottomless supply. One has to wait weeks for the pods to regrow. I think even with a Bounty(don't be swayed by the name) and big salads you may get just a few days and then have to wait for a while.
The supply won't be any where near the Costco supply you are used to. You can supplement that, though with what you get from the AG.
IMHO the continuous(without a break) big harvests you are looking for would demand a few AG Farms in the house. Perhaps you can pm some of the AG Farm owners here who have grown lettuce/greens and see what they suggest??!!

My favorite AG for growing greens is the Ultra. But I believe that it's discontinued. My greens do okay in most types of AGs, but the Farm is my least favorite for romaines.
Also, if you get the countertop AGs, they're easier to stagger (because of the smaller number of pods).

Interesting. I am on my first growing of salad greens in my harvest and have seeds growing for salad greens in my sprout. I will have to try both ways (a couple of harvests versus letting it go for months). I have a thriving in-ground and container garden outside. The AG’s are in the garage as it is too hot for lettuce yet. I already want another one - may go for the bounty.

Sound like you are catching the AGA bug! LOL. Lettuce would grow nicely in a AG Bounty. That said, I've not grown lettuce in my Bounty, yet. I like to use one of my AG Farms for the greens, as I like to grow plenty of it. Especially when we are eating all of our meals at home, it is nice to have lettuce on sandwiches at lunch and then a bowl of greens at dinner too. I like to throw in some herbs too. They make a very nice addition to a salad bowl, a sandwich or a pizza. Or on top of a Schnitzel or Chicken Parm! Yum. Anyway, get ready to have a lot of fun and eat it too!

I have this same question… I see that this was posted a couple of years ago. So how did yours work out? Did you find that you had enough? I eat salads every day and I miss having fresh lettuce in the heat of the summer and of course the winter. I purchased my first AG this week just for lettuce. Grocery store lettuce is just not the same. I’m excited about growing it inside this winter, but I’m worried that it won’t be enough…

Welcome rc. I think it all depends on the amount of lettuce you consume a day, what machine you are using, if you are staggering crops etc. It can be done but again goes back to the questions I mentioned.
For a single person who may only eat smaller salads a day, a Harvest can be used however once harvested, depending on how it is harvested you may have to wait another two weeks before harvesting again. Now if you have two machines then you can stagger the trims. The larger the machine, the more lettuce of course you can grow.
People also grow it differently, meaning. I will grow lettuce and only harvest from it three times before restarting. Other will grow and pick (olr trim) forever until it gets leggy or wants new.
Does that all make sense to you? I hope it did not confuse you further.
