Hi, did anybody ever try to grow cauliflowers in AG?
I have 4 seedlings of a purple variety ("violetto di Sicilia") I sowed in September and that, due to the dreadful rainy wheather, are still small and stunted. I was thinking to give them a try by transplanting them in the AG and eventually pamper them them untill in good size to come back to my outdoor raised beds.

do think the mature stems will fit in the plastic pod baskets later on?

Hi Corinne, I don't think so when they are big, but since they are still the size of a seedling I was wondering if they could be grown in AG just for one or two months, in order to make them recover from their present poor conditions (only one pair of tiny, true leaves and several snails damages), and then I would eventually transplant them back outside, when stems don't fit anymore in the pods. Anyway I have no clue of their growing rate, so I don't know if it could be possible to do that.

Nurturing them in the machine is feasible . But getting them out of the machine with stems in tact may be a problem if they are large. If you have large machines like the Bounty or Ultra, you can always pot them in fresh, bug-free potting mix and place them right next to the machine and let them grow by stealing light from the AG project you are growing. I do that all the time!.
