WE have life! Several of the pods have sprouted. The "Speedy Rocket" already have a tiny 4 leave sprout! The mustard has a seedling emerging and the Lacinato Kale also has something emerging. The rest I can see some signs as well!

Yay! Isn't it wonderful how the excitement of seeing them germinate never gets old! Yes, I love them in the first few days/week when you see major growth everyday. It makes me feel alive haha.

All pods have germinated and most are above the label....I removed several of the domes last night! 2020-02-03_02-33-05 by Aaron Blasyak, on Flickr The Curley cress is the only one not to germinate (yet). I am really pleased with the two chard pods. The last set of gardens I planted at end of summer took several tries to germinate AND they seemed to take a long time. Encouraged that everything is growing at the same speed (and fast!).

I just took another look at your planting chart. You really are planting a great selection of greens.

Thanks, Sher! Yes, I really love the Bounty. I keep eyeing another...but I am a vegetarian, so I eat a lot of greens and they are so pricy in the Winter months. The greens do not always produce as much volume at lettuce. My thought this time around of doing an entire Bounty of Greens and an Ultra of Lettuces, I can be fairly set. Many of these seeds are the first time using, so exciting to see what they actually turn out like!

Looking forward to seeing how it goes. Although I am not a vegetarian, I can never get enough greens, either,

Day 9~ Things are moving along. All pods have germinated. The Curley Cress (2nd from front right) is lagging behind, but we have some germination and it is slowly coming above the label. 2020-02-07_01-09-21 by Aaron Blasyak, on Flickr 2020-02-07_01-09-59 by Aaron Blasyak, on Flickr I am really curious what the Kales are gonna look like, because of now they do not look like what I think of as kale... The spinach (front, left center) also sprouted which I am happy/relieved! I had see a few comment on the boards that spinach is hard to grow in AG. I did not know this when I bought the seeds, and have been worried ever since. It is looking great so far!

Day 15~ Nutes (8 ml) added yesterday. This one is really coming along well. All the pods (except the cress) are growing full and evenly. I am happy with how the Kale(s) and Chards are coming in. When I grew the Kale last time...two from AG (Kale nd Mixed Kale) and one from Park's (Lacinato) they did not produce a ton. So far, these are looking good. Not sure why the cress is so far behind. As of now, I am mildly worried the others are going to start blocking the light. I may have to move one of the salad greens that is more advanced out to give this one more space and light. We will see. 2020-02-13_09-25-20 by Aaron Blasyak, on Flickr 2020-02-13_09-25-43 by Aaron Blasyak, on Flickr I am looking forward to possible being able to harvest some small amount in a week or week and half. I am going out of town in two weeks for a few days (for a conference) and then will be back for 2 days before going out for a week. Am hoping I can harvest enough to have it grown back by when I get back. I THINK the timing will work well. Will update when am ready for a harvest...if not sooner.

Day 99~ So this greens garden is still going strong. I was harvesting a lot of leaves last month and was contemplating terminating it, but decided to see how much it would grow back. Interestingly, many of the pods (the Kales and Chards) have grown back bigger and fuller. The Kale leaves, while tasty, were mostly growing small and stem-y and once got big, they would yellow. They have grown back nicely, as has the chard! I will keep this going for a while, although the arugula is all stems and barely any leaves, so will remove that pod soon and leave open. 2020-05-08_10-57-22 by Aaron Blasyak, on Flickr 2020-05-08_10-57-43 by Aaron Blasyak, on Flickr] They are quite untidy and in need of some harvesting. Not sure how much longer these will go. I assume once I do another major harvest they will probably be (mostly) done. But the chard seems to grown back and back, so we will see. By accident, I added too much nutes (12 ml) the last time, but the plants look great, so am thinking next time around, once they are mature, may add more nutes. According the AG instructions, Bounties can do 12ml after the first 2 feedings, but I have never added that much as it seemed to creates issues with the lettuces. I had read somewhere on here that greens need a lot more nutes than lettuce, and I think that seems true. Also, this garden is drinking water like CRAZY. I am adding a gallon every day or two (morning on one day and late night on the next day then then morning 2 days later). I hate having to add water so much, but love when they drink up so much water. Makes me feel healthier when I eat them.

Day 105: Terminated this greens garden today. The 2 chard pods and 2 Kale pods and 1 mustard had all grown well but were not growing much this week and starting to look pale, so harvested them all and threw into my breakfast this morning. Sanitized the machine today and will have a few days to figure out what am going to do with this machine. As I mentioned in another garden thread, I was gifted a new Harvest over the weekend and now have my Ultra that had herbs open. However, I am short on sponges, so deciding what to do with the three open machines. Some of the Bok Choy kit pods will go in one (I have 12); I want to start peppers and/or tomatoes in one to transplant next month to pots. The third machine I will likely plant some other greens. Or, may only plant half the garden in choy and have in other greens. Decisions

You did well with that garden.
And the uncertainty of deciding what to plant next is a lot of the fun!
