Side door delivery today. It's been so long since I ordered a new AG I forgot how exciting it is to receive them!!! ( Had to unbox outside because too heavy to bring inside. Hence the outside pictures) These are so cute!!! I knew from all of you that these were smaller machines, but I had no idea how much more compact they are in comparison to a Spacesaver 6. I'm all atwitter, I'm so excited! (that word sadly will take on new meaning with the prevalence of Twitter. Which I still don't get). I'm cleaning them now!

I wonder if there’s a difference in the water capacity of the bowls between these and the SS6. The flared shape of the SS6 bowl could be deceiving.

I can't remember off the top of my head how much water it takes. But I did buy a Black one for Hunter and her BF for their Apartment. It will be a Christmas Gift

Oh yes, choy will be perfect since it’s a short machine!

These take up markedly less space than the 2 SS6’s that were there, and are lower too. I can actually see my window sill for the first time in 3 years! I think I’ll be very happy!

Very Nice Mary. So what will you plan in the twins? I’ve already got a cucumber in one, and am deciding on the other. I have 2 big machines full of baby herbs, tomatoes and peppers that will need to be split up to their own machines, so I could put 2~3 of the herbs in this Harvest. Or, because my eggplant is such a compact plant, I could transplant it to the Harvest and use the tall machine that it’s in for the peppers or toms that will need space. In my exuberance to plant my peas the other night, I overlooked the fact that that tall machine was supposed to be for 2 of these baby toms or peppers. So I’m thinking my best bet is to transplant the eggplant into the Harvest to free up a tall machine.

I got a new white one as well, and it is astounding to me how much smaller the Harvest is than the SS6, despite only a 2 cup difference in capacity. Both hoods are at their lowest yet look how tall the SS6 is. I know the SS6 hood is larger in part to house the CFL bulbs, but still. They’ve done a good job of streamlining their designs. This will help greatly under cabinets.

Hey, Mary..did you ever figure out the pump testing issue?? No It’s still only doing germination mode. I need to call the company and ask. I doubt there’s a fix. Huge bummer (for transplants).

If I am not mistaken the Harvest only runs 5 minutes per hour around the clock.
I will say that my herbs and flowers do wonderful with the way it runs.
