Well, all is normal. I'm down to two plants now. The rear left hasn't done anything so I pulled it. The two remaining plants are blooming regularly and I think there is a strawberry growing. I'll post a pic when I'm sure.

I'll post a pic when I'm sure. I'm excited for your project! Strawberries are such a summer delight. It'll be fun to see your pics! And I'm impressed that you coaxed flowers and berries via pods, because AG had me thinking they needed the coco coir they try to sell us by the bag. It just goes to show the value of giving things a try!

I only found one other very little/young strawberry. It hasn't started blushing yet. Today was R&R and maybe the fresh nutes will start something. Day 35 and all is well. The smaller plant back in the right rear slot is blooming like crazy. Every few days there is a new flower. Here's a couple shots.

At 42 days things seem to have gone down hill after the R&R last week. I ate that one little strawberry and it was very tasty although it never did get any bigger than the tip of a little finger. Very tiny for a strawberry. I did let it grow till it got somewhat soft to the squeeze/touch. The back right plant was growing a strawberry but the plant seems to be dying. The left front has 3 strawberries growing on it but it too seems to be falling to the wayside. Oh well. Two fails with strawberries so far but I'm not giving up yet. For $3 for 10 crowns is a pretty good price from Walmart so I'll pick up another 10 next time I get over there. (Can't find them any cheaper on the internet than $1 a crown BTW.) See ya next week for nutes.

I did add nutes today but I'm afraid there is no coming back. Both plants seem to be withering away. I only wish I knew why it failed. I'll give this nute day a few days to revive then I'll terminate. Oh well, stuff happens.

Rick, if you give it another try, which I hope you do, I read that you should not let the plant fruit until the plants are much larger. So keep pinching the first blooms so the plant gets some vigger. I will try to find that source and add to your post. I think it even gave a suggested leaf count which I don't recall.
Please try again. We all want you to succeed!

Oh, I'm not giving up. I've been following the advice of that u-tuber I posted way back in Feb. about 4 or 5 posts deep on the first page of this thread and his suggestions are great. I will do it again soon, believe me.

I've noticed that these strawberry plants aren't dying off. Matter of fact I see new growth. I'm going to leave well enough alone to see what happens.

Not sure what week it is but we can call it week 49 I guess. It is nutes day but I'm not giving it anything this time. :-) Notice the fresh greener leaves and that one single shoot. New growth. (If it's a runner I'll have to prune it back, I'm afraid.) Wonder what's happening here?

I don't know what is happening, but it's an interesting mystery! If it's a runner, could you start a new plant with it?

I believe the only way is to have soil for it to take root in. This is how the plant prospers and multiplies. Those runners SUCK most all the nutes from the rest of the plant while it's trying to 'reproduce' itself. That's how that works, BTW.

Doesn't look good but I'm not beaten yet. LOL R&R and nutes today. :-)
