At day 57 I've given it a major pruning. Maybe that will help. I'm still not holding my breadth for this one tho.

I'll give you one thing, you do not give up easy for some strawberries.

I salute you for your determination. I also have found in the past that if there is a project I really really want to succeed, I try different approaches until I find the one that works. Keep on keepin' on, Rick. The answer is out there.

Rick, your answer may be growing strawberries from seed, as Error suggested.
These are day neutral (everbearing) strawberry seeds. They are from Johnny's and they are expensive. So is their shipping. But you might do a search and see if you can find them cheaper elsewhere.
We REALLY want to see you become a successful strawberry farmer!
Edited to add that this one is compact and does not produce runners. Link

Thanks all. I've read that growing from seed is not recommended. We'll see.
For now on day 64, nutes added and new growth is constantly growing. I'll let things be for now.

Well, the jury is still out on these plants. :-)

thegrindre, if you do want some seeds, I have some wild strawberry seeds. They may need some pre-treatment before they grow, and they won't be the same as store-type strawberries, but they're here if you want to try some!

I'll take a rain-check on those seeds, if you will, akivalocal.
Day 71 seems to be eventful. The one plant took off but the other isn't looking very good, I'm afraid.

Well, not sure what happened but the edge of all the leaves are turning reddish brown even on the new growth, YUK. Day 78 and I'm worrying again.
Added nutes and removed the sickly smaller plant. Inspected the roots and they look really good. Also raised the light up a couple notches. Time will tell...

I haven't given up yet but I think I should after day 85 and a good pruning.
