Growing Spinach -- Tip from Member

I am a very new member and on my first crops in my 2 new AeroGardens. In my Harvest Elite I have 6 varieties of Heirloom lettuce that I ordered with the garden. That was very easy- everything sprouted in 3-5 days. In my Bounty Elite I have Kale, Swiss Chard, and YES- Spinach. After reading about all the problems others are having getting Spinach to germinate, I took a different approach. I put the spinach seeds in the refrigerator until my garden arrived. Then I put about 12 seeds in water and put that in the refrigerator overnight. The next day I spread them on a wet paper towel and put it in a plastic bag. 2-3 days later they were germinating. At this point I carefully transferred the germinated seeds to foam plugs and put them in the garden. Now I have 3 small spinach plants emerging. I did originally try putting some seeds directly in the plugs but nothing happened. I will send pictures when they are a bit larger.

So much to grow and so little space- no wonder people are addicted to these gardens.
