I decided to lay this guy sideways on the deck. It’s growing kind of funny, but it’s healthy, which is all I care about.

Sadly all the other baby fruits died off. The plant just can’t sustain them, for some reason. I just trimmed off more dying leaves, along with tiny shriveled fruits. Maybe it’s because these seeds are older.

I trimmed the worst of the leaves, then put it in dry dock for a couple hours (suspended above a plastic tumbler) to give the roots a break, then fed it just 3-4 mg. I hope it improves.

The plant doesn’t look much better, but the weird skinny end of the cuke has fattened up nicely since I laid it horizontally on the deck.

Looking back, I think it’s the biggest Tasty Jade I’ve grown in AG. I don’t know if that’s a good thing (it might have too many seeds now). I really should harvest it now so I can see what the plant will do next with more energy. Because all the other babies died while this thing was growing.
Got any ideas what to make?? I’ve got some slightly past due yogurt that’s never been opened, maybe it’s still good for a cuke dip, lol. That’s all that immediately comes to mind.

For me, a fresh cuke right off the plant is the perfect treat with no additional preparation needed.
But that one's huge!

After I took the last pic, I spied this new long vine climbing up the window. It’s a healthy one, unlike the rest of the plant. Here I’m propping it up with something because, before I remembered to take the pic, I had gently pulled it down under the hood, but I wanted you to see it the way I found it. And why I missed it, lol.

Yes, those are the tendrils that will clamp on to anything in reach.
I just had to peel one off my fledgling Rocoto plant.

I’m pretty brutal, I just snap and tear them away from what they want to cling to.

Well, I was trying to do it without harming the Rocoto. Took me forever to germinate one of those, so it's strictly kid gloves for the time being.

Still not looking good, except for the one new stem. I cut the cucumber off and put it in the refrigerator. Now that the plant doesn’t have to sustain that big piece of fruit, let’s see if it develops another healthy one. If it doesn’t soon, then sayonara baby.

Long time since I posted. Got the one cuke, cut it, put it in the fridge, and let it go too long so tossed it. Here are the new babies and I just fed it an additional 4 mg AG food even hough it isn’t due yet. I think I have been under feeding it.

Whenever I have a ripe cuke, it doesn't even make it to the fridge. Can't imagine how you could let one go bad.

I upped the nutes since I now think I was underfeeding it, and I snipped off a bunch of yellowing and dead leaves. And when I went to remove the whole basin to rinse off the deck, I found this guy lurking off of the back! So I propped him up on the deck.

I’ve got to remember to consume this when the time is right. Skip the pizza, go for the cucumber, lol. I hope it’s not my imagination but I think the plant is healthier since I fed it more.
