One Tasty Jade cuke in my new Harvest Elite. My last effort did not do well in the SS6. But I have high hopes for this one.

I’m afraid I let this grow and jam up against the hood. I hope I didn’t hurt it. It’s looking a little unhappy with the yellowing. Anyway the hood is up enough now so hopefully it’ll start doing it’s thing. Maybe I should trim the biggest bottom leaves off.

I think yellow leaves are sadly unavoidable with cuke plants in a hydroponic setting. It's often a function of the plant growing faster than its roots can support it.
That, and those massive leaves, one of which could easily hide your entire harvest if it wanted to.
I'm going to be watching this closely to see how successful you are growing cukes in a short garden. So far, I've only used a Bounty, and while the plants did send out tendrils to grab the top of the hood, it seemed like the plant mostly wanted to expand horizontally in the absence of some sort of support.

I went ahead and cut off the biggest leaf in the front. And then I cut off another. I didn’t cut anything off the top by the yellowing leaves yet.

This guy is yellowing. I just fed it about 5 mg of food so maybe it’ll green up. This is the section escaping over the hood And this is the productive part under the hood

I wouldn't get too worried about some yellow leaves. As far as I can tell, it's a pretty normal part of growing cukes in hydro.

After listening to the AG Live tonight, they say that yellowing can happen when too much sediment from nutes are sitting at the bottom of a unit. It disrupts the pH balance and they suggest drain and refills. Often the yellowing can correct itself after.
I am not saying this is the issue but worth a try.

I trimmed some big old leaves, so it looks less bulky, but it’s taller. And I have baby cukes!

In order to train the tall branch on the right to grow sideways and stay under the light at a lower level, I tied it to the lower branch on the left.

This doesn’t look very happy. Maybe it’s because I cut corners and used my softened water instead of distilled for a Rinse and Refill. Got lazy. I have a dead baby And a healthy baby. Hopefully it’ll continue to live.

At the last photo op I missed this burgeoning beauty. Though the plant doesn’t look great, hopefully all the other babies will follow suit.
