Seeds: Linda compact dwarf tomato Vendor: Heritage Seed Market / Bunny Hop Seeds Machine: Harvest (temporarily) Nutes: AG Vendor description: “Linda” (ТОМАТ КОМНАТНЫЙ ЛИНДА; Tomat Komnatnyy Linda) is a very short dwarf variety that bears large red saladettes in profusion. The plant itself topped at less than 18” in a 1 gallon pot. It may reach higher in a larger pot. During the time I grew Linda, I thought the name was “Balcony Red.” When I translated the Cyrillic from my seed packet, I found that the variety’s name is actually “Linda,” or something to the effect of “Balcony Tomato Linda.” My tasting notes report that I found the fruits to be meaty, with a great balanced sugar to acid flavor. The fruits are so perfect that I feared this was a hybrid; however, I could not find this designation on the packet nor in any site I found listing it. Meet Linda! The seeds were added as a gift in my dwarf tomato order from last year. The pack was labeled “possibly low germ” so I planted a couple and waited to see if any would sprout and one did! She’s in a Harvest right now as I swapped her out of her Bounty for my poppies. Linda is supposed to grow to less than two feet so I will have to eventually put her back into the Bounty.

Looks like a fun project to try. Linda looks dramatic in her debut photo!

A long due update.... I’m not sure what’s going on with Linda. Leaves are just drying out! She continues to grow but I’m not sure if she’ll survive long enough to create any fruit.

Poor Linda! I don't know much about tomatoes, so I'm probably no help. Hopefully someone else can come to the rescue!

Are you giving it too many nute? Have you done any R&R's? Is the hood too low? I have no clue, these are just some general questions that maybe someone else can use for assistance.

Looks like it needs water. Tom plants suck up water like a sponge. Go easy on the nutes now that it's grown. Don't forget to pollinate often. Hang in there, she still might survive.
