I have grown the Heirloom salad kit and the types were not my favorite. I found they were bitter even when young. I made good use of them but I had to use a sweet dressing (honey, oil, vinegar, chopped garlic, parsley, Italian seasoning, and Parmesan cheese). Honestly, I am a simple iceberg fan. Please spare me the iceberg is has no vitamins and I have no taste. I hear it at home. I know none of the AG lettuce types are going to be head lettuce. However, based on my bland taste, which of the lettuce types that AG offers are my best option Salad Greens or Mixed Romaine?

Taste is so subjective. I don't like bitter lettuce either.
I prefer romaine because it is usually sweet and has more texture.

I too am not a bitter lettuce person. Is stick to romaines for myself. My husband loves all types of lettuce.
I usually grow Dragoon, Jerichco, Butterheads Bibb, Little Gems and Sweetie babies. I know I have had others and I would have to look into my stash to see what else but I have not had any complaints about them.

Right now I have 24 pods of lettuce growing. I have now tried growing Buttercrunch and Romain from Park Seed, and all the Aerogarden lettuce varieties. I am now using Dyna Grow, Foliage Pro, for my lettuce, which I think makes for sweeter, less bitter, lettuce.
The best taste for me (an iceberg fan) is the Buttercrunch. It is also the fastest growing but also the fastest to end its useful life because it tries to grow to the lights too much and the plant eventually flops over. I am still experimenting. I may still choose Buttercrunch as my primary type.
The Romaine is slower growing than Buttercrunch. It is tasty. It does not reach for the lights as much as Buttercrunch, it may end up being my first choice.
The Aerogarden lettuce varieties are very very content under grow lights. They do not grow long stems and try to reach for the lights, they grow bunches of leaves, just as you would expect from lettuce outdoors. Maybe it is the varieties or maybe it took some selective breeding to make them ideal for indoor hydroponics. The AG varieties are all more bitter than the two Park seed varieties, but they taste much better when using the Foliage Pro. They are really the best, except for one thing, the price. I suspect I will still grow some of the AG pods now and then.
I need to go through a few rounds of growing from seed to disposal to see what works best. I will try some more types too. Maybe in the end it will be a mix.

It's good to try different nutrients for different things.
I have not used Dyna Grow Foliage, but I do use Fox Farm Grow Big for my Kratky romaine.
I also add CalMag, which almost completely eliminates tipburn issues. I had a horrible time with it when using AG nutrients in Kratky.
When my Fox Farm gets low, I may try the Dyna Gro Foliage.
How many ml per gallon do you use?
