New to aerogarden when should the tomatoes ripen? And should I pinch off leaves ECT Welcome to the forum marcy ! I am new to tomato growing myself so I do not want to give you any advice. However Tomatoes can take some time. It may also depend on the variety you are growing. Let me ask a few questions so others can jump in to answer. What machine are you growing them in? How much nutrients are you giving them and how often? Is the water hot, if so add ice cubes or do and R&R. Tomatoes like warm not hot water. Can you post a picture? You can find how to post pictures in this thread.

This is my first time growing tomatoes and I am fairly new to AeroGardens, but I have been successful so far (it really is easy). AeroGarden (AG) says with their heirloom cherry tomatoes they will ripen between day 70 and 84. My garden is on day 81 and they are turning red and yellow (golden cherry toms). They look great and there are lots of them. Also, I am still getting new flowers, and more tiny tomatoes starting. I have not eaten one yet. Looks like it is going to be day 84 for me. Clearly AG knows their plants well. AeroGarden says trimming tomatoes is not necessary. I have had to do a lot of trimming but that is because I have five plants in a farm. Most people recommend only planting four in a farm. I trim to try to keep them from growing into each other. If it becomes impossible, I will pull one out, but so far, so good. I use the recommended AG nutrient amounts as scheduled but I also add an extra cap full about once a week when I add a lot of water. I have read here that tomatoes like a lot of nutrients. Cal-Mag is another nutrient that is recommended here. I have added a little of that too. There are some recommended nutrient and mineral ppm suggestions in threads here and various websites. I have always been much lower than recommended ppm, even adding the extra nutrients, probably in part because I start with reverse osmosis (RO) water with only 7 ppm. I am afraid I will kill the plants if I add the nutrient amounts needed to get to the recommended ppm. Good luck with your tomatoes and I hope you enjoy the experience. It has been fun for me.

my tomatoes are growning nicely since I bought the farm I can raise those lights up and the plants look a lot better. I am producing 6 to 8 cherry tomatoes a day for salad. My lettuce is growing on the other half of the farm so I am no longer buying it.

I don't own a Farm, but congrats on your new machine and successful crops!
