I placed a new seed in a few of the pots. I see life in all but one however I think it will still come up.
When exactly do I plant them in the potting soil outside?

When you see a lot of roots growing through the mesh. If they are not going to be set in solos or soil pots , then wait for the roots to really be showing through.
I planted mine a few days ago and just came in from outside watering..the critters are munching and digging them as usual. A rabbit also ate the bud of my sunflower. I know it was a rabbit because that one is low and the only one it should reach. The other one higher up is untouched.Aren't they adorable little darlings?

As of this morning .... Over the weekend OR next week I will have (dare I say it) the reaper assist me in planting. I will have the reaper put the potting mix in the planter and I will place these on the mix and have the reaper give me spoonfuls of mix to finish planting. Then I can water as neded outside, Or should I wait a while longer?

The sign that they are ready to plant, I find, is to see roots coming through the mesh. (see my video in a pm)

And those fall colors are beginning to glow as well! I gave up on my entire garden outside because of the cold, because of the drought and because every day I have to go out there and replant them..root ball and all..because of those busy 4 legged friends. They have worn me down and I am declaring defeat. Everything will be covered in leaves in a few weeks anyway. My main concern now is to get out there this week and prepare those EB's for transporting the soil to wheelbarrows so as to put them all up on stands for next year.
