I bet you didn't see this one coming! The seeds are from a variety pack: Saguaro, Hedgehog, Fishhook Barrel, Dollar Prickly Pear, Desert Prickly Pear, Christmas Cholla, Cane Cholla, Santa Rita Prickly Pear, and Cardón I started four seeds in each rockwool-solo pod. Not sure how well these are going to turn out but it seems fun.

This will definitely be the slowest project I've done yet:

Added 1ml of nutes - the first nutes I've added since I started this project a month and a half ago. If you don't want to run out of nutes, cacti are the way to go

Here's a different angle so you can see the height of them:

Removed all of the seeds that never sprouted - some of them were beginning to mold over.

This is the first time I have ever seen cacti grown from seed. As Shawn said, they are cuties.

This is the first time I have ever seen cacti grown from seed. As Shawn said, they are cuties. Cacti are very easy to grow from seed, and very little maintenance. I have some that I started in coco coir back around March in plastic shot glasses, and all I do is cover it with plastic wrap and give it a little bit of water every 2-4 weeks. (maybe around 2ml?) Cacti seed aren't hard to find either, as long as you're not picky about the type of cacti. The hardware store near me sells assorted cacti seeds from Burpee for the same price as any other packet of seeds (and I think that's what I used for this as well). Here's one of my glasses:

Normally with cacti you keep the amount of nutrients low since they have a tendency to get burned. I wonder if the same is true for hydroponics or not.
Added 4ml of nutes.
