Hi there, I had a thread a while ago asking about starting up my peppers but I thought I would ask in the right section to continue the discussion - I was away for some days and bam, plants out of control all of a sudden. Purple super hots in the centre, mini Jalepenos on the outsides and in between on each side are Red Fire. I gleaned from the other thread that I'll probably have to move a couple plants out to a planter or new Aerogarden. Will these be able to bear fruit at all in this garden? Are they just plain too tall for this? How do I prune this and should I prune it now? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

s4pilot, that's a question for our Pepper King, mike. He should see this tag the next time he checks the board.
Hang on!

I wouldn't try more than two pepper plants in that garden, unless you are just starting them. The jalapeno plants typically grow between 16-24" The Thai are 14-20", and the purple super hots are 12-14". This is the plants I've grown in older AG's. I have only grown the jalapenos on Bounty's or Farms.
You can keep any of these under your light hood through pruning. But it will be frequent and a bit frustrating at times. Life happens and the next thing you know they have grown into the lights.
Good luck.

what do you make out of the purple super hots? I bought the pepper kit Just curious.
I was thinking about making an arthritis cream when the time comes. dry them and powder, mix with melted bees wax and coconut and shea butter. It will be awhile.

I never grew them so I am unsure how they are. I also have no clue about turning into a cream. Since that is a medical question I would refer you to a medical professional. Again I would refer to a physician or a pharmacist regarding mixing any pepper seeds crushed or otherwise for use other than cooking / eating
