This pepper plant ended up growing large enough to fill the barrel - but it never produced any peppers! It did the same thing that it did indoors, where it would produce hundreds of flowers but no peppers.
I think it might have been a type of pepper that required another plant to cross-pollinate with, although I've never heard of a pepper plant that required that.
With the cooler temperatures, the plant has started to die back - and instead of turning it back into a bonchi, I will just let it die in place and plant something else next year.

That is a shame. I did grow Habandas and did get peppers. Maybe the vendor or the seed crop? I got mine from Burpee.

It might be the vendor - I got mine from Refining Fire Chiles, but I haven't had enough experience with their seeds to know if it is unusual or not. Although given that mike has had great success with them, it was probably just a one-off issue.
