Since the cucumber was taking over the grow tent, I moved it to the Bounty Basic that I was planning to start my Red Veranda tomatoes in.
I also discovered, from reading fldave 's ppm log that I was drastically under feeding it, which may be why the original Kratky cucumber never matured fruit.
I had originally planted this cucumber in rockwool and a 2 inch net cup. So I had to cut away the net cup, pull off most of the rock wool, and reseat it in a split Park Seed sponge, then insert it in the Aerogarden pod.
Between that, and shoving the roots through the tinier Aerogarden hole, the poor cucumber suffered massive abuse. I think it will be okay.
My only concern is that the massive Kratky air roots might drown. I hope the pump can supply enough oxygen to keep the roots from dying.
I also didn't have time to order a trellis as the tendrils were determined to attach to ANYTHING. So I cobbled together a trellis out of a piece of leftover molding and bamboo skewers. I wasn't sure how tall to make it, so I went with 4 feet.
So here are photos of this cucumber with the tortuous history!

YAY!!!!! This is the first open flower I have seen on my mini munch projects.
I think it means I am going to get mature, edible cucumbers from this one!

My cucumber has bugs. Some leaves are entirely riddled with holes.
The plant is unhealthy and not maturing fruit.
I will give it a week and see if it improves. If not, I will concede defeat.

I wonder what kind of bugs. Have you seen the bugs or just the damage?

It is be like that just from rubbing up against it? It is odd you are not seeing any bugs anywhere. You would think you would see at least one.

No, I haven't seen the bugs. Just the damage. But my vision isn't that great, either.
It is definitely bug damage.
And the cucumbers are stunted and not developing just like the last time. Just starting to shrivel.
I think I will go ahead and terminate this project. I will try again someday.

The bugs won. Plant was placed into a sealed plastic bag and disposed of.

It had to be done. But think of what you will grow next.
