What is the safest way to untangle the root system of tomato plants from a Harvest to larger farm? I have 6 maturing plants that I want to remove from the Harvest but the roots are pretty much entwined.

Carefully try to untangle best you can. If needed just cut the roots top to bottom but carefully. I do that with my peppers (and herbs) when I do not turn them.
I never did it with tomatoes however

Also, it helps to twist the roots when trying to pull the plants out. It compresses them, so makes the root bundle easier to pull through the hole.
