I've had my pea plants growing about 3 weeks now. They seem very happy, but I see no sign of flowers. I was a little worried before I searched the forum and saw that other gardeners reported flowers on their pea plants at about 4-5 weeks. So I'll just have to be more patient ... These are my Tom Thumbs. These are my Sugar Anns. I need to tie them back to encourage them to stay on their side of the garden and leave the Tom Thumbs their own space!

Nice looking, peas should pop up when you do not realize they are there.

My pea plants are growing wild! They're about to start pulling pictures off the wall! I'll be harvesting my first crop of two [2] pea pods in a couple days. There are more flowers and pea pods coming along, although so far, only 1 plant out of 6 is flowering. If they all get going, I might some day collect enough for a meal instead of just a snack!

Looking great! If you want a denser and most likely a bigger crop, you may want to try maestro Peas. You can grow a plant in every port of your garden. They tend to grow straight up and grab each other in the row, and produce very well. I have just planted 8 12' rows outside as I do every year. Give them a try, I think you would have an easier time managing as their spacing for rows is every inch. territorialseed.com/products/pea-maestro?variant=12786121769059PS, maybe not.. Looks like Tom Thumb are only supposed to be 10" tall.. my Maestor's get to about 24-30"

Such exuberant pea plants! I hope you get your meal's worth.
Either way, they are a joy to see!

My husband got ambitious in the good weather and started tilling more space along our backyard fence. It'll be my job to fill that space!

From seeing photos of other people's pea plants, I did expect this snarled mess. But I also expected ... more peas? The plant matter to flower/pea ratio is quite high. The Sugar Anns are trying to grow up the wall, but their flowers are few. The Tom Thumbs started flowering a few days ago and seem a more vigorous so far. However, the first pea produced by a Tom Thumb is very flat with tiny peas -- like a stunted snow pea. I'll keep this garden going a little longer, just in case a pea bonanza is right around the corner. But I do expect more vegetables to put up with this jungle! These guys are in the refrigerator, waiting for some friends to join them.

Awww. That is so disappointing about the tiny harvest.
But you do have a lovely lettuce garden.

So I should let them stay on the vine longer? I didn't know that! Thanks for the tip! Yes! As a visual reference, here is the plant I'm currently growing - one week ago, and today. You can see the pods on the right in the first picture, and they're the same pods as on the left in the second picture:
