The Sugar Anns never produced more than half a dozen pea pods, so I ended up cutting them out and letting the Tom Thumbs take over. Three Tom Thumb plants now look like this. I thought they were supposed to be compact, lol! Over the course of last week, I harvested enough peas to saute with salt and chili powder and serve as an "amuse-bouche" to my family before dinner. A couple bites for everyone! The plants are flowering like crazy now, so I have hopes this week of harvesting enough to call it a side dish!

I got tickled at your description of your Sugar Anne harvest!
The Tom Thumbs look so vigorous. I'm betting you get a satisfying side dish. Hope so, anyway!

I terminated this project a month ago because the pea to plant ratio wasn't favorable. The plants were all wild, scraggly branches with very few flowers. I planted the same pea seeds outside -- where they seem to be doing very well, despite the cold, rainy weather. Flowers appeared today! I certainly didn't have flowers when the plants were this small in the AeroGarden! There's already more than one blossom per plant. I have high hopes that the plants will be more productive in this location. When I took the peas out of my Farm, I put in dwarf eggplants. As their leaves grow bigger and bigger, I hope I'm not going to have the same issue with these plants (massive plant growth, poor fruit production). I'll share the progress of this project on another thread!

you can plant peas and should plant peas 1-2" apart in 2 rows about 6" apart and give them something to hold on to. The 2 row near each other will hold on to each other. I have been planting Maestro shelling peas for a few years and they never disappoint, many pods per plant and 5-8 peas per pod.

I'm glad the peas like their new home better, dianne. Wishing you a decent harvest this time.
I have been planning to grow another Fairytale Eggplant as soon as I have a vacant Bounty. That was one of my favorite projects -- inspired by you -- after I learned how to pollinate them.
