Took only about 4 days for the Hibiscus "Pink Swirl" seeds to germinate. I put them into Jiffy Pots and now I'm hardening them off for the garden (in ground). These things have flowers the size of dinner plates. I bought the seeds from Burpee and only put 1 per seed pod. All 6 germinated. That's good because the packet is only 15 seeds.
I put some cuttings from a viburnum into the AG seed starter tray yesterday. Trying to root some in my EarthBox too. Hope something roots somewhere! I tried rooting viburnum last fall and every cutting failed. After some study on the net, I learned to take viburnum cuttings in the late spring/early summer. Heck, I didn't know anything rooted from spring cuttings. Live and learn.
I had some yellow zinnia seeds that were sent to me free, so I planted 8 of those yesterday.

I love those hibiscus. I had some when we lived in south Georgis. I miss them.

Our neighbors had hibiscus along the back fence, down in CA. We got the dropped blossoms and would rush to get rid of them, in case one of the dogs took an interest! They are pretty, but not suited to the PNW.
Glad you are having luck! Your garden sounds lovely!

I love these. I have a bunch in the yard and also started a few seedlings in pots this year as well. Not sure where I'm gonna plant them all but that's future me's problem

Thank you. I love flowers, but I'm 70 years old now and can't put the sweat into it like I once did. I moved about 10 years ago and had to start from scratch. This is the viburnum I'm trying to root
and some other garden photos

elainev , f I drove by your place, I would stop, stare, and soak in the beauty. It looks like a botanical garden display!
Thank you for posting those pictures.
