28 days ago, I planted 4 Patio Baby Eggplants (Burpee) in my Farm. I hope they will put the same enthusiasm into growing eggplants as they do growing their leaves!

We Just finished a grow with them and Fairy Tale Eggplants.
We found that they were not as sweet as the Fairy Tale Eggplant and we will not do them again.
Neither really did much after the first harvest and we are wondering if it was (is) worth the effort in the future when we could be growing something that provides more usable harvests.

I was just searching and found a members that grew them.
This is Mary's Patio Baby's and here is Adrian's Patio Baby who said they would grow again. I guess every has their opinions plus who knows if the seeds now are producing like they did back then.

By about 36 days, my Patio Baby Eggplants were big-leafed and healthy and producing buds. But the buds weren't developing into flowers. Healthy plants! But the buds stalled right here: I know eggplants need a lot of nutrients, and I kept upping the nutrient level, but still didn't see any change. Then I remembered that last year, when I successfully grew fairy tale eggplants, I only had 2 plants in my Farm. This time I was trying to grow 4 of them. Soooo ... reluctantly, I sacrificed 2 plants and conducted a rinse and refill. Down to two plants. The very next day, I had flowers! I hope this is due to the action I took and not that I needlessly killed 2 plants one day too soon! Hoping to report back with actual dwarf eggplants soon!

I think you did the right thing, dianne. The more space the better for large plants like that. Good luck!

I bet they were all fighting for the nutrients. Now that there are two there is no competition for food. Good call.

My two plants look healthy and are producing lots and lots of flowers. I hand pollinate them, and then ... nothing. I have yet to see a single fruit. The flowers fall off -- not just the petals but the entire flower. I keep upping the nutrients, but still no eggplants. I might keep this up another week, but if I don't get any fruit, I'll have to chalk this up as a failure.
I'm beginning to see that I was ridiculously lucky with my fairy tale eggplants last year. They were the first crop I put into my new Farm, and I knew absolutely nothing that wasn't in my AG instructions. Looking back, I can't believe I grew actual eggplants!

I made an EXECUTIVE DECISION and removed one of the plants.
Let's see if the remaining one will start to produce fruit.
