Oh, I'm glad you didn't terminate the peppers, mike ! Those look marvelous in the photo. If they don't taste good, then there's no reason to keep them, of course, but I love your photos.

24 ml Nutes, 20 ml Mooch, 2 ml GH Liquid KoolBloom I think that these are the only ones I'm going to keep going. They are looking a lot better are are spitting out peppers, now.

Do you like the new product you are using? Maybe make a part about it on the nutes secretion of you do? I am interested in getting some to try for my peppers but would need instruction on how much to add and also is this in addition to our replacement for mooch?

Folks I can't even tell you how much these plants turned around, health wise, since the edema. The plants are small, only 16" or so. But I have kept their size down by trimming off the leaves affected by edema. These plants are now loaded down with peppers. This poor cell-phone photo doesn't do them justice.
It looks like I'm going to have my sauce after all.

Shawn, my initial assessment of the General Hydroponic Liquid KoolBloom 0-10-10 was it scared the crap out of me. I added it after the second feeding. GH recommends between 2.5 and 5 ml per gallon for hydroponics. It was about 36 days and I added 10 ml (5 ml / gal.) to the Farm. Within 18 hours the plants looked like they would die. I dumped the water and replaced it using only 6 ml (3 ml / gal.) I ran with that until the next feeding two weeks later. I still wasn't happy with plant appearance. I decided to dump water again and this time I used only 2 ml of the KoolBloom (1 ml / gal.). My next feeding is this weekend. I will be increasing to 3 ml KoolBloom (1½ ml /gal.). I figure the combination of AG Nutes, Mooch and KoolBloom should work well. (I hope) As for the Mooch replacement, I purchased General Hydroponics CALiMAGic 1-0-0. I have not used it yet as I still have Mooch. It appears to be more concentrated as recommended quantity is 5 ml / gallon. Mooch is twice that. Everything is a work in progress...

As soon as these peppers ripen, I will put the whole peppers in to ferment for 1 week. At that point, I will freeze them until I have all of the peppers. Then when all peppers have been fermented, I will add some Apple Cider Vinegar and blend. Then I will simmer them and jar them. This will be fun.

Each aspect of hot sauce making I've done many times. Every time, I try to refine the process to get the most from the fermentation without overdoing it. I'm reducing the fermentation process from 2 weeks to 1 week this time. However, this time I want to achieve that fermentation on perfectly ripe peppers. To do that, I will have multiple jars going at the same time. After 7 days, I will strain and freeze them. Freezing will stop the fermentation process. I will also ferment whole garlic cloves and a few other goodies. When everything is ready, I will throw them in the Vitamix with raw apple cider vinegar and olive oil and blend until hot. Then, I transfer the sauce to a pot and simmer. At the end, I add Xanthan Gum to thicken it. Then into the bottles and jars.
