Today was culling day. I had three sprouts, picked the strongest looking one. Has about 6-10 true leaves on it already, and I'm probably a week away from the first raising of the hood. It has its 4 week anniversary tomorrow. It's hard enough removing a plant with 4 true leaves... I can't imagine snipping the stem of one with 6-10. I don't think I could do it! Which is why my herb garden still has a pepper plant growing through 2 mimosas in the same pod...

Came in this morning, and I either need to top the plant or raise the hood.
I'm going for topping the plant.

So, I topped the plant rather than raising the hood last week. By thursday, it was making a lot of gurgling noises, so I checked the LED and it said "Add Water," which I did. Came in this morning, and the hood REALLY needed to be raised, and it was saying Add Water again. Considering bringing in an Aerovoir.

Day 44: Just topped (again) and nuted the plant. I guess I got two days behind on the nute schedule somehow.
Using straight AG nutes in the office. Don't even have any CaliMagic.
The plant is still looking quite healthy. And with the pruning, it's starting to fill out.

Your plant is so much bigger than mine. Is it AG’s regular jalapeño or their mini?

Came in and the leaves were all jammed up into the lights, so I had to raise the hood again. Then it told me it needed water. Shoot, I'd just topped it off on Thursday.

I'd say so. That or it just LOVES your office.

It's getting so that everyone comes by and comments on how much the plant has grown in the last day or two.
We have a Poland Springs "Bubbler" in the office. I tested the water and it has very low TDS, so I use that. I'll top off the water in the Harvest in the morning when I get in to work and again when I'm about to leave in the evening. I'm in the office 3 days a week, and if I've been out for more than a day, it'll say "add water" when I get in in the morning, and yes, the water level drops somewhat noticeably over the course of a day.
I've had Basil hit a growth spurt like this, and while I generally have good luck with peppers, I've never had one bulk up this quickly.
I keep chopping the top off, so it isn't anywhere near the maximum hood height, although I expect it will be sometime next week, but the plant is just getting fat. The main trunk is getting really thick, and I'm starting to see buds form. Yesterday, it said "51 days planted," so I think we're right on schedule with this thing. But, wow, does this plant ever look healthy.
I find it quite relaxing to have a plant like this in the office, although I've never put myself so close to a Harvest like this, and I confess, whenever the pump comes on, I feel like I have to go pee.

LOL, well you keep you kidneys clean.
When you are not in the office, is there someone who can give it water?

There is, but I think the real solution is to bring in a spare Aerovoir, which should keep it going for a few days.

People dropping by this morning to comment on how lush and healthy this thing looks. Looks healthier than most of what I have at home, and I'm not even trying. Which should tell me something. One bodacious blossom opened up over the weekend, a few more look like they're about to.

What is a Poland Springs Bubbler? BEAUTIFUL BUDS ON THE PLANT!!!! BUT MARY'S QUESTION BRINGS BACK MEMORIES. Poland Springs is a Bottled Spring Water company. Some use the term 'Bubbler' for these and similar machines.i bet you are a Boomer, Dawn ! When I was a kid in school here in New England we called every fountain we drank water from a 'Bubbler' LOL! (raises hand in class to get a drink) 'Miss, may I go to the Bubbler?' And the bathrooms were down in the basement.. So a request to go there was ALWAYS asked' May i go to the basement'. I had to crack up a few years ago when I heard a 5th grade teacher announce to his class that it was recess and time to go to the 'basement'...and it was on the 3rd floor!!! I wax nostalgic.
