I have been successfully growing lettuce, especially romaine, since I first started Aerogardening.
However, with fresh seeds from one of my favorite vendors, my last two attempts have failed to germinate. I was really puzzled as to why.
Last night, as I was checking the sponges for any sign of life, I realized what was wrong.
Lettuce is a cool weather crop. I had made an attractive AG display in a corner, so there are several Aerogardens in close proximity. It was hot! Way too hot for lettuce to germinate.
So I started a new batch of romaine across the room where it is much cooler. I'm betting this one will be the usual success!
