It looks like marigolds grown inside would be a good idea.
I went to Lowe's today and came home with a gorgeous foliage plant. It is a starling ivy. I have never seen leaves like it before. Very exotic.
I heavily treated the whole plant with Sevin before bringing it indoors, then watered the soil with 1 part hydrogen peroxide and 2 parts water to kill fungus gnat larvae.
I do hope I can avoid importing bugs on it.

Nice list. One might note that Marigolds are a favorite of snails though. I used to plant them just to keep the snails away from other more valuable plants! A sacrifice to the snails!
